  1. I love how Auburn fans think a group of multi-millionaires (that admittedly don't always have the best ideas) are wrong 100% of the time. They were right here and it will be proven throughout the fall.
  2. Hey well at least whoever runs this site can just shut down the recruiting board while Harsin is still here and save the bandwidth
  3. With Deion I worry about when FSU comes calling
  4. How likely do we really think this is though? Calzada is your likely starter at QB. The OL is back but weren't world beaters by any means. We lose Zakoby, Smoke and McCreary on defense. WR is a black hole. Then you have the recruiting. It wasn't good before, even though it was his bump class which is usually a coach's best recruiting class. After this, I don't see any way we can maintain from this year's sub-par effort, much less improve. If you aren't sure you're gonna fire a guy or not, don't cut his legs out from under him. He is done at Auburn sometime in the year 2022, and his buyout is only $4m less after this season.
  5. Yeah I 100% think hes gone. I don't know anything. Everyone falls on one side or the other as to what they think happens, but I don't see how you give this guy the keys to the kingdom after trying to publicly execute him in the square. He will burn it down, then still get a hefty buyout next year after taking an at-the-desk vacation for 9 months.
  6. I've said it several times but they have reasons that they do not want him on the job any longer because of things he's done (or not done), but they aren't things that are going to lose him a buyout. Just rip the bandaid off and pay him. It'll cost way more than $18m long term if we keep him because of lost revenue.
  7. I don't think him going to the meeting today means anything and y'all are reading too much into it. He probably just showed up because its expected of him... he doesn't show and thats something Auburn can use to fire him for cause. Its not like they are breaking major ground at these meetings. Now if it were a meeting about conference realignment when OU and Texas join, then you might have something. Marcello said last night that money is not an issue and they will pay him, just a question of how much. I'm convinced he won't be leading the team on the field this fall until I see it with my own eyes.
  8. Not for cause though, which is the whole issue
  9. I think Auburn wants to settle because they know their cause won't hold up in court. Making coaches run off for other jobs, not going to events, not recruiting hard enough aren't technically "fireable offenses" even though they are offenses that make me not want the guy to be our coach. Part of the reason it won't hold up is because of the circus, they would have had a better shot if they just canned him before the media got a hold of the story (but still not a good shot).
  10. Our beat writers and media have been almost entirely if not entirely avoiding bringing up the affair at all, and definitely not posting who the girl is. If anyone has articles where they actually even bring up the affair, link it here because I would love to see it.
  11. The Boise guy on JOX also pointed out that the Boise admin basically wouldn't let you ask any tough questions over there. The Boise market also doesn't care about CFB like we do in the South, and the media over there are mostly young up-and-comers who don't want to rock the boat. If you are on the Boise beat and write a scathing report about the program, you're locked out for good and since you are a young reporter your career is over before it starts. Why did Harsin have to go on ESPN to get his case out there instead of going with someone local? Because he isn't used to having to deal with actual media with teeth, and he didn't feel like they were valuable enough to him to build relationships with the local guys. The reason our beat guys seem like they have no sources now is that its ALL coming from either the boosters or AD, the coaches who would know (Harsin and the Boise guys) aren't talking, and the Auburn guys like Reed and Cadillac are left in the dark.
  12. Boise sports writer on JOX right now really bringing the hammer down on Harsin and Auburn for not vetting him before we hired him
  13. Well if they told him to come back and then warned him beforehand that the policy was about to change, even if it was a few days warning, I think they have SOME legal case. Maybe not enough to win in court, but enough where it makes him more likely to take less of a buyout (in their mind anyway) Doesn't look like Harsin is blinking, though.
  14. That isn't what he is doing though, and he didn't even establish that culture at Boise... It was already there. You can't accomplish that without a staff around you, and it won't matter if you do accomplish it if your talent level is lower that Kentucky's
