I think it’s there. It’s gotten better but will never go away. Most of us are guilty of this bias. Few realize or admit it.

Which is it? Best guy getting the job or the bias is there?

  2. Was watching some videos of favorite moments from favorite teams from the past. During this video I forgot about some people.... see who you can see besides Nolan and Ventura (I was at that game also!)

Basically, there's thought that owners/GMs hold minority coaching candidates to a much higher standard than their counterparts. Good example is Eric Bieniemy who has coached for nearly 20 years (after a playing career) and worked his way up the chain "the way you are supposed to" (position coach to coordinator). Every year he interviews for jobs only for them to go to the a less experienced guy. Or how African-American quarterbacks labeled as "athletic" often have their credentials as QBs questioned because of their style of play. (See Lamar Jackson, most recently.)

Is that because of unconscious bias? I can't say, but I think it's worth discussing.

Or how there hasn't been a white starting corner back in the NFL since Seahorn in 2003.

I think there is unconscious bias across the board in professional athletics from the field to the front offices.

“This kid may never be a top receiver like Antonio Brown or JuJu Smith-Schuster, but he will turn out to be a solid receiver. The talent is, and was, there on not just his college tape, but his preseason tape, too. However, when it comes to Washington, it is a very unique situation.

Mike Gundy’s Oklahoma State offense asked Washington to run three basic routes — a simple streak, a post, and occasionally, a slant. Washington is immediately at a disadvantage due to an inexplicably bare route tree. You think Dez Bryant was polished coming out? He certainly was not, and he had to learn all the NFL routes, and it was no wonder he never came on until late 2010.

Washington is the same way. He has had to learn routes like an in, the NFL out, a chair route, a simple fade, wheels, anything you can think of, Washington has had to learn. The guy wasn’t even asked to run a curl route in college. Over the past few weeks, the Steelersare starting to expand his route tree, which is why you saw him run a reverse sluggo on Sunday.”

Article is completely wrong.... nothing to do with it being the Steelers and me being a lifelong Cowboys fan lol... jk.

I actually could see that, Gundy goes deep alot and his wideouts usually go up over people and make the plays. If you watch you see different routes, possible that a players skill set depends on his routes. I truthfully don't know enough about the game to critic it. Washington was a beast at OSU going deep, just like Bryant was.

I remember him specifically mentioning adjusting routes at halftime against I think WVU this year.

What’s going on with James Washington. He got called out by Big Ben this week and now he’s not even dressed. Big Ben isn’t playing inspired himself maybe he should stop.

@Texan4Auburn I read that he only ran three routes at Oklahoma State and that’s part of the reason for his slow learning curve. What kind of offense does the mullet run? Sounds like a critique of Gus’s.

Lol, gotta catch me up on who ran 3 routes. I've literally seen Gundy change routes up between series. When he use to call the plays he would go coach the offense while the defense was on the field.

Might also do like Herman. What I've seen and read that Herman's offense doesn't have alot of routes, but it is up to the reciever to properly read and adjust. So the route depends on the defense. Plus the WO's for both those offense catch crazy crap all the time and don't drop many.

Davidson’s father died in the 9/11 tragedy. He’s a comedian, and he’s been doing stand up in and around NYC since he was 16.

Just putting that out there for the inundated.

And if you’re bitching about SNL being slanted left, then I would like to welcome you out of the coma you’ve been in for the past...I don’t know...ever.

Only book that ever really, truly scared the dookie out of me. And a very rare movie that is simultaneously faithful to the book while standing quite apart from it and is damned good in its own way.

I read almost all of King's books through the early 90s and this one remains my favorite by quite some distance. And Kubrick is one of my 3 or 4 favorite directors.

This is one of those movies that really creeps me out to this day.

Lol, anyone else remember the episode of Friends where Joey keeps the book in the freezer cause it freaks him out too much.

  9. Looking forward to this. I was fortunate to have older cousins that taught me about music and dragged me to rock concerts. Think News of the World was the second record I ever dropped the needle on. My first was Kiss's Destroyer.

8/31: Blair Witch(2016). Never seen this one.

Saw this at the theaters. It was Ok. Not a big horror fan. The big thing at the time was they had warning about going to see it cause the camera work was making people sick.

I'm also going to try and encourage my kids to take a year off before college. Go out west, to Europe, whatever. Go get a job and experience the "real" world. I seriously regret not doing that. I didn't really appreciate my undergraduate education. I wish I would have.

Lunatic Fringe.... I know your out there.

You can't blame the towing company.  The complex management probably makes the call to them.  I doubt the tow truck drivers just ride through complexes looking for illegally parked vehicles.  Somebody reported it to the towing company.

So yeah, discussions with the apartment manager may help.  Then there is always the fake pass as mentioned above.

I bet they do. I've seen them cruise the AU parking lots also. They got a contract with a company to keep the lot clean they are gonna do it, plus they are losing out on money by not doing so. I think it would be bad business to just sit and wait on a call.

Never been to Casino's.  This was pretty freaking great though.  It's literally a neighborhood bar that may hold 60 people.  I had just enough time to snag a burger before my flight and I wish I gotten two.

I primarily went because Matt's has been featured on travel channel by Andrew Zimmern.  That guy is my spirit animal.

Casino is the same way. Small bar on 6th and is a bar first. Card you to get in. You order food in the back, lol like you did at the Super Club.
