My first AU game was in 1956 against TN in B’ham Legion. Over all the years nothing has come close to the electricity in the air. I remember driving through AU with my cousin when we saw a large sign on a frat house, “don’t worry they’ve got Curry”. We thought that was hilarious. Shakers (orange and blue) were passed throughout all the AU sections in the stadium. Pregame, I was running all around making sure everybody in our section had shakers. Coach Dye had the team ready and Tiger Walk was totally off the charts, just a sea of humanity with only enough room for the team to enter in a single file. What an amazing game and what an amazing time afterwards at Toomers Corner. The word had spread pregame that some UA clowns had printed signs to sell after the game, “we whipped their axx on their on grass”. Most fantastic game I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to many. I was there. It was a tough game to lose.

Personally, I'm for this. For a punter it can be very unsettling not having confidence in your snapper. Specialists take such concerns away.
