LINKInvestigators Find Evidence of Voter Fraud

By JULIET WILLIAMS, Associated Press Writer Tue May 10, 9:04 PM ET

MILWAUKEE - A task force looking into potential voter fraud on Election Day said Tuesday that it found more than 200 felons voted illegally and more than 100 instances of people voting twice or using fake names and addresses.

The investigators found hundreds of fraudulent votes in all and counted 4,600 more ballots than registered voters in Milwaukee — but did not uncover any proof of a plot to alter the outcome of the hotly contested presidential race in Wisconsin's largest city. They also found ballots cast using the names of dead people.

Prosecutors have not filed criminal charges in the probe.

"There is not the evidence of an overriding conspiracy in all of this," U.S. Attorney Steven Biskupic said.

The task force, however, did find evidence of sloppy record-keeping and poor training for poll workers, who were overwhelmed by thousands of absentee ballots. Biskupic said the faulty records will make it tough to prosecute many of the crimes.

Biskupic, the Milwaukee County district attorney, Milwaukee police and the

FBI launched the probe after a newspaper investigation found more than 1,200 people voted from invalid addresses and that election officials were unable to process 1,300 same-day registration cards.

Democrat John Kerry received more than 71 percent of the 277,000 ballots cast in Milwaukee in the presidential race. Kerry won Wisconsin's 10 electoral votes by about 11,000 votes. Shades of Chicago in 1960??

The review comes amid a partisan fight over plans to make voters show ID at the polls.

Wisconsin allows same-day registration, and those who already are registered can simply show up to vote without ID. The state also allows anyone to vote absentee without a reason, which caused long lines and headaches for clerks around the state before Nov. 2.

Both the GOP-controlled houses of the state Legislature passed bills this year that would have required ID. Gov. Jim Doyle, a Democrat, vetoed them. Now, Republicans want to amend the state constitution to require voter ID.

Doyle said Tuesday a voter ID requirement wouldn't have solved any of Milwaukee's Election Day problems, which he attributed to "bureaucratic mistakes, poor management and lack of training among the poll workers."

Now, we clearly see why the demoncrats do NOT want voter ID cards! Maybe this past election wasn't NEARLY as close as the numbers indicate!!!

There was no whine, swine, simple statement of fact. Typical libbie response when confronted with evidence, dismiss it with a comment like yours.

HOW CAN ANYONE BE AGAINST VOTER REGISTRATION CARDS TO PREVENT SUCH ABUSE?????????

Just trying to get clear on the rules of the game, TB. Not to worry, next time I'm feeling ornery I'll post a link to some Michael Moore rant, call it "evidence" and make fun of you in all caps when you dismiss it.

I see where TB is coming from as well as most of you do........ you don't hear the same complaining on the right about voter fraud... you only hear about it from the left.

Florida 2000

Ohio 2004

Why didn't we hear about this one during the election? The difference in Ohio was 100,000 votes.

Some states went to Kerry that was a much, much closer race. Didn't hear Kerry whine about voter fraud in those states

Piglet, that link was from the associated press..... the mainstream media that is known to be left slanted. Sure, post a link from Michael Moore; that will do wonders for your credibility, but it will make sure that no one ever takes you seriously if there is anyone who still does.

Auburn85, that is the point I was trying to make. 4600 more ballots in Milwaukee than registered voters...... where Kerry had a 71% margin..... and won the state by only 10,000 votes. It makes you wonder how many bogus ballots were stuffed in the Milwaukee area, probably enough to have thrown the election. Milwaukee's population is approximately 600,000;of that just over 400,000 are of voting age. If even 50% are registered voters, that is 200,000. A high voter turnout would be 80%, or 160,000 voters. But there were 4600 more votes than registered voters. That could be in the range of 40,000 to 50,000 bogus ballots, or 4 to 5 times Kerrys "margin of victory" in the state.

If there ever was a case for voter ID cards, this is it. The only reason to oppose such a system is to want voter fraud to continue. Just keep that thought in mind every time you hear some demoncrat talk about "disenfranchised voters" or "intimidation" or any other garbage they spew in oppositon.
