Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Jamel Dean became the first player this season to intercept a pass thrown by Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and the former Auburn defensive back turned it into a touchdown on Sunday.

Dean picked off a pass intended for wide receiver Davante Adams on a third-and-10 snap at the Green Bay 22-yard line and returned the interception 32 yards for a touchdown.

Dean’s touchdown allowed Tampa Bay to cut the Packers' lead to 10-7 with 12:42 left in the first half.

The interception was the first of the season for Dean, and the return was his first NFL touchdown. Dean had two interceptions as a rookie in 2019.

Rodgers had not thrown an interception in the Packers' previous four games this season, and Dean’s play ended a streak of 157 passes without an interception for the Green Bay QB. The pick-six was only the third against Rodgers, who is in his 16th NFL season.
