BCS Playoff

He has an interesting conversation with TJ Jackson about how to conduct a playoff. TJ's best comment was:

"I guess you could reduce the number of regular season games," Jackson said. "Then you could play more playoff games. But four extra games now? That's the NFL. That's a job."

Twelve games is too many now!

The article is here:

Melick Column

The other problem is that the schools who go to bowl games get quite a bit on money for their athletic programs, especially SEC shools. If we went to an NCAA sponsored playoff system, guess who would take the money just like the basketball tournament?

Guess what the NCAA would do with all of that money.

Why would the NCAA necessarily have to be involved? If we can institute a plus-one system using the bowl games, there's no reason we couldn't have an 8-team playoff utilizing the same bowls. The first four games of such a system could be the Cotton, Capital One, Gator and one of the current major bowls rotating in. The next two games (semifinals) would be two of the four current BCS bowls, again rotating. The National Title game would be one of the current BCS bowls, again rotating.

Teams would play, at the most, 2 extra games beyond the regular season and normal bowl they go to now, and only two teams would do that. Two more teams would have played 1 extra game beyond the regular season and bowl they'd have normally played. The rest would all be doing the same thing they're doing.

Why are we still talking about this when we have football games to play?????? In the offseason it's all well and good to dwell on how much the NCAA sucks and there will never be a true national champion until they go to a playoff system, but right now, that doesn't matter, regardless of the comments CTT made the other night.

Right now, we have some football to play, and all of these games make or break our season!!!

WAR DAMN EAGLE AND BEAT THE WILDCATS!!!!

Because it's a football forum, not a "Game of the Week" forum. Lighten up. <_<
