Something HAS to be done; if it takes a wall, so be it!

Probably the most necessary change is to get rid of the "anchor baby" provisions so that the illegals cannot get around proper channels for citizenship.

Make it more costly for employers to hire illegals (with heavy fines or such) than to not hire them.

Prohibit drivers licences to illegals.

Make all law enforcement units responsible for checking the status of immigrants on routine stops and crime investigations. Need a coordinated effort to return illegals to their homeland!! (if it were up to me, I would tattoo a big red X on their forehead so they could forever be identified and prohibit them from ever applying for legal status, but I'm kinda radical in that respect, LOL) No more of this "we don't care about your status, we just need to know who killed Manuel" would go a long way to discouraging illegals.

Eliminate all benefits to illegals. If you check into a public hospital, you have to prove citizenship!!! Yeah, that's tough, but anything we do to encourage illegal immigration just makes the problem worse.
