Professor Gundlach said. “It’s embarrassing.”

Really, Dr. Gundlach, so embarassing that you contacted the most widely circulated newspaper in the country to make sure they wrote an article about it and put your name all over it? Amazing...

I think its time we rename the Frank Broyles Asshattery award. We could call it simply, "The Gundlach"

"Mr. Williams, who now plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, had already completed his football eligibility at Auburn. He was a B student, accordign to Prof. Petee. But Prof. Petee also acknowledged taht by taking thsoe two classes, Mr. Williams helped boost Auburn's standing in the academic rankings."

you really can't dispute the simple fact that AU was ahead of Vandy in the NCAA rankings, yet has HALF the graduation rate.... somethings not right, and you can't deny it.

Hey man, get your calculator out and DO the math.

APR would be figured on say:

100-200 hours average per man on a

85 man roster. That looks like about

8500-17000 hours of classes. Now mulitply that by

2-4 for GPA points. That could amount to from

17000-34000 to 34000-68000 GPA points.

Got that? 17000 to 68000 Total GPA points. The entire impact from these SD or IS classes comes to 97 hours X (2-4 GPA points) that amounts to 194-388 points IN TOTAL!

At 17000 and 388 points that is a maximum impact of 2.2%. Or almost nothing.

At 68000 and 388 points that is a minimum positive impact of .5% Literally nothing.

Conclusion: the impact of this these DS or IS Course was about zip on the overall APR numbers. Remember we are only talking about 18 total footballers of 272 DS/IS Classes during the 04-05 school year. About 7% of the total....

This amounts to just about nothing NO MATTER how you DO THE MATH. Remember:

75% of the students werent ATHLETES.

Only 25% were ATHLETES.

Only 7% were footballers!
