Proud Tiger 4,261
This is a good example of how pathetic the polls can be and why we need a playoff for the MNC. http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/4663656.html
AuNuma1 1
Wait a minute...let me get this straight. We had a cajun in the pressbox of a home night game and he's expected to make half-way intelligent thoughts/decisions? Come on AP, he's not slow, he's just cajun. We shouldn't be so hard on him. bigsixfive 328
Why did this one guy get removed for something they ALL do (or don't do, which is watch the games)?
auee90 0
He doesn't have internet? Or a buddy who has internet that he can call? His excuse was weak. He trusted someone he doesn't know. His watching/being at the game wasn't the problem. That's what sports writers are supposed to do. It's our own fault too for wanting the polls out quicker (instead of Monday, when they used to come out). But then again, this shows yet another weakness of the polls. Even if we get a playoff, we'd still need polls to seed the teams.

Even if we get a playoff, we'd still need polls to seed the teams. Not neccessarily. You could have a selection committee like they do in basketball. That's not perfect but at least intelligent people sit down together and discuss things.

Lurking Tiger 62
AP sports editor Terry Taylor said: “We understand mistakes can happen, but we thought this one could have been prevented. The heart of the matter here is the credibility of the poll.†Just kill me now.
