AUJarhead 70
4:45 p.m. update:The Cardinals will announce at 5 p.m. that they have traded third baseman Scott Rolen to Toronto for Blue Jays third baseman Troy Glaus. The Cardinals will wait until Wednesday for a formal news conference about the trade, out of respect for the family of longtime front-office employee Marty Hendin, who died Saturday night. Mr. Hendin's visitation and funeral service is Tuesday. The Blue Jays are expected to hold their press conference Tuesday. Link to STLToday.com Good move for the Cards. It's apparent the rift between Rolen and Tony isn't going to be healed. Glaus provides some much needed pop behind Pujols. Yes, we'll miss the Gold Glove defense at Third, although Izturus has better range than any SS we've had since Rinteria. This division is still week. I think 90 could win it again. AuburnChopper1 0
Just saw this on Stlcardinals.com...... great news! Let's hope our pitching is up to par when we get started. Still a lot of question marks there...
abrnfanatc 6
That's a shame about Rolen. He and Pujols were the only two Cards I actually liked... It does look like a good move for you guys though.
