BZ770 2
AP source: Braves make offer to Johnny Damon By The Associated Press February 10, 2010, 5:43PM ATLANTA -- A person familiar with the negotiations tells The Associated Press that the Atlanta Braves have made an offer to free agent outfielder Johnny Damon. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because no agreement has been reached. Atlanta's offer is believed to be for one year and include deferred money. Damon's agent, Scott Boras, has said he is seeking at least a two-year deal. Braves manager Bobby Cox says the team is prepared to give 20-year-old outfield prospect Jason Heyward a chance to win a starting job. The 36-year-old Damon hit .286 with 24 homers for the New York Yankees last season and likely would hit leadoff for the Braves. Great Pickup, I'd go see a Braves Game to see him play. FUZZYAUFAN 134
That would be a nice pick up for the Braves. Damon has always been one of my favorite players.
Justin5 20
Meh, no thanks. Money would be better spent elsewhere.
BZ770 2
Meh, no thanks. Money would be better spent elsewhere. He would be a great lead off man. He still has 2or 3 yrs of good play left. gives Braves Time to develop someone in the mean time.
