  1. 1. Which play should be the focus of the new painting?

    • Antoine Carter's forced fumble
    • Nick Fairley sack and fumble recovery in 2nd quarter
    • Emory Blake touchdown
      0
    • Terrell Zachery 70 yard touchdown
    • Cam Newton touchdown run
    • Phillip Lutzenkirchen touchdown catch
    • Cam Newton over the top on 4th down conversion
    • Greg McElroy sack by T'Sharvan Bell

I voted for Lutz. With that said; I would like to see the actual shots they have to work from. If one play has a significant better view than the others, I am for that one.

The strip is just too perfect. Carter should've given up on the play but didn't. Much like Auburn "should have" given up on the game. This play is a microcosm of what this entire season has been about--everyone working to their full capacity, supporting the team and never giving up. I don't think it gets much better than this play to sum up not only this game but the entire season.

Sure without the other plays the comeback flops; without this play it never gets started.

The strip, and it's not even close IMO. Lutz deserves one too though. And we must have a Cam painting when all is said and done. Maybe his LSU run.

But the AC strip symbolizes the start of the comeback and the Auburn spirit. AC goes down as an Iron Bowl legend in my book, joining the ranks of Bo, Tre, and the McClover.

What about "Walk the Line" for the ball rolling along the sidelines and for the tip toe sideline catch made my Darvin Adams on the 4th and 3 play.

I was just about to mention this. Darvin had a season saving catch.

Ok here are two close ups of the 05 Georgia painting I'm working on. Sorry the quality is real bad cause its from my camera phone. I didn't have a digital camera handy so you can't really make out alot of the details. Just a sample of my art.

If you choose "the strip" be sure to have Ted Roof in the background with that "I wonder if I like chocolate or strawberry better" look he wears during the first half of all our games.

"The Strip" ...

Heard a quote on Dallas sports radio station today referring to the Roy Williams strip that led to Saints modest comeback against Dallas on Thursday, but applies here too:

"He was stripped like a cheap escort."

PS: Love the pic!

I think AC's forced fumble should be the one because in reality, that was the turning point of the game.

Carter ran 50 yards to make that play! 50! Nuff said on that play being THE one! :cheer:

i agree, and after looking at the replay there is a moment when you can tell he thinks i can't catch him, maybe i will pull up, then he runs harder then the stumble by ingram, and one of the most beautiful plays in auburn history!!!! i have shown that play to my son over and over as i tell him,

"YOU NEVER, EVER GIVE UP ON A PLAY,PERIOD!!"

Okay, sorry its been a couple of days but graduate exams are a pain, especially with this program. 4 major papers are due by next Tuesday.

Based on the voting and the comments and my own personal opinion, I will be doing 2 paintings of this Iron Bowl. I will do them seperately but I might get them put together on a single print when finished.

Lutzenkirchen touchdown catch will be one entitled "The Comeback." The Antoine Carter strip will be the other - probably just entitled "The Strip." I haven't yet decided which angle the strip will be shown from but that picture y'all posted looks pretty good to me. I'll change it up so that good ole' Nick is in the background watching Marky fumble the ball. Think y'all will like that touch.

The paintings will be done on 20x24 canvas in oil. I'll start the Lutz painting first and hopefully sometime next week, I can get a pencil outline on the forums so you all can see what it will look like. The strip outline will follow shortly.

Thanks for your voting and all the responses! And War Cam Eagle!

The play that really turned the game for me was Carter's. If they go in there it is 28-0. It was the most impressive play as well.

That's what is so amazing about this game, and this team. As great as one play is, it's only important in setting up the next big play. Carter's punch is only a side note if Fairley doesn't crash the line, cause another fumble, and then recover it.

The Fairley and Carter plays, as huge as they are, don't really lend themselves to make great paintings. Dunno of any ' image ' in the series of events which fully captures the moment.

The Lutz catch.... now THAT'S a moment.

I will let you know when I complete the paintings and get them to the print shop. Depending on the type of paper used, prices may vary as well as size and all. I will let you guys know when they are completed about all the details and everything.

Maybe instead of "benching 500lbs", maybe Ingram should throw in a few curls to assist in holding on to the ball...
