Academia is the hope, but jobs in the SE are scarce and I really don't want to move that far from the family and friends (and AU football ). I've got a friend that has been working on his PhD for nearly 8 years now. He's working a full time job and doing the PhD (in Auburn from Houston) on the side but his advisor just won't let him go...
