AUBURN, Ala. –Jenn Johnson has been voted to the 2008 ESPN The

Magazine Academic All-America Women’s Soccer Second Team, it was

announced on Tuesday by the College Sports Information Directors of

America. This is the second straight season that the senior defender has

been named to the second team, a first in Auburn soccer history.

A defender from Loganville, Ga., Johnson has a perfect 4.0 GPA while

majoring in psychology while also pursuing a minor in criminology. A

permanent fixture on the Auburn backline, she started all 84 games that

Auburn played in over the last four seasons, amassing two goals and

seven assists. She helped Auburn to three straight NCAA Tournament

berths, including a host spot this season, and SEC West Championships in

2006 and 2008.

Johnson was one of just three players from District IV to be named to

any of the three teams and one of just two SEC players to make any the

three teams.

Johnson’s selection marks the fourth for an Auburn player as Dawn

Dunbar (1997) and Erin Hinson (2003) join her selection from the 2007

season as the only in program history.
