The SandMntTiger 9
Frank Thomas set announce his retirement today at the ripe old age of 41. In a time where steriods ran rampant through MLB, Frank was one of the few power hitters never to be linked to the drugs. Frank Thomas did not stand before Congress and lie like others of his time. He didn't even get subpoenaed to appear. Instead Frank done things the right way and did them spectacularly. As a member of the 500 HR Club and a 2 time MVP, Frank is a certain HOF. Here are few reads and stats about the man and his fine MLB career. War Eagle, Frank! http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago_sports_mob/2010/02/future-hall-of-famer-frank-thomas-officially-retires.html http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/ct-spt-0212-frank-thomas-retirement-white20100211,0,630722.story http://mlb.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=123245 Btw, The White Sox are planning on retiring his number this summer. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=4907072
The SandMntTiger 9
As for your question, I think it should mean alot to Auburn. Knowing your school produced a 2-time MVP, one of the best hitters of all-time, and possibly a first ballot HOF, is something Auburn University and it's fans should take pride in. AUfocker13 0
I"m not sure he's even been back to Auburn since he left. I know he isn't involved at all in the baseball program like others who have had success. Bo, Hudson, Gross, Bellhorn, Olsen, just to name a few that you see come back for events. Maybe now he will start to get more involved. Would be great to have another Athlete of his magnitude giving back to Auburn Athletics.

augolf1716 21,109
I think alot of people forget Frank was a very good football player. He played tightend for AU and had at least one TD catch as a freshman.
