  1. Newell is a Kansas grad and probably hates us because of the hurt we put on them in the tourney a few years ago.
  2. 2, since he was at Michigan for 2 years before transferring, but your point is spot on. I believe he and Tshiebwe from UK will be the only two big men that will really give Kessler fits in SEC play this season.
  3. Show me where Castleton has struggled in his previous games. The guy has been Florida's best player this season and it hasn't even been close.
  4. He’s shown flashes and will get better and better. Don’t forget that Castleton’s in his 4th season vs Kessler’s 2nd.
  5. Change 5 drops to completions and he’s at 68%.
  6. Nix threw for 217 yards on 55% today against the number 1 defense in the country. Take away all the drops and he might have thrown for 300. Take away just 2 specific drops and we score a TD on our opening drive and don't gift them a field goal on our second.
  7. To me, the three biggest moments of this game were: 1. The first play of the second half 2. Our first timeout of the second half 3. The fade call Any of those not happening and this game could have, and probably should have, gone our way.
  8. He's going to be a very, very sought after transfer across the country. Hopefully we really do have a shot at him now that he's back on the market.
  9. I've been a Carolina basketball fan for as long as I can remember knowing what basketball was. I watch every one of their games. That being said -- Kessler has the potential to be a first team All American. He has all the talent in the world and he plays with heart and emotions. If we could somehow land him that would be massive. I'm shocked he's leaving UNC and wonder if that means that Bacot, Sharpe, and possibly even Brooks are all coming back next season.
  10. And the only reason Okoro has fewer minutes is because the Cavs have played fewer games. He averages 6 minutes more per game.
  11. Okeke has been hurt a ton and I really hope you're not right about him. Okoro you're wrong about. He's averaged the most minutes on the Cavs who look better this year than they have since LBJ was there. He's come in as a starter after only one year in college and been asked to guard some of the top guys in the NBA. He'll be just fine.
  12. I'd love to see their deep play one more time from a different angle. Looked like OPI to create the separation when I saw it live.
  13. The Braves signed Brian McCann and Josh Donaldson each to 1-year contracts yesterday. Donaldson played for 3 years at AU so it's nice to once again have an Auburn guy on the team. I'm loving what this club is doing so far this offseason!
  14. Do you really think the Braves haven't been trying to get rid of BJ? C'mon... I think the trade could end up being really good for the Braves. We needed a starter and they got one who has been pretty solid the last two season. He's also cheap and we freed up a bunch of money by trading Heyward. Everything I've read has lead me to believe that we would not be able to afford him after next season. I also do think we still move either Justin or Gattis.
  15. I'm 31 and have lived in Atlanta my entire life so I grew up listening to Pete, Ernie, and Skip. It really sucks that all of them have passed but I've got to believe they're up there somewhere having a laugh and calling a game together. RIP
  16. There are rumors of the Braves trading Uggla and a top prospect for Brandon Phillips. When I first heard about this I absolutely loved the idea because Phillips is a beast both in the infield and behind the plate but the more I've looked into it it sounds like he's not very well liked or respected in his own dugout. The Braves usually shy away from guys like that. However if we could deal for him knowing that he'd fit in (personality-wise) that would be a huge lift.
  17. Dodgers are putting Kershaw on the hill again tonight after throwing 124 pitches on Thursday. He's never pitched on short rest before in his career. Hopefully this works out in the Braves favor.
  18. He was left off the NLDS roster. That does not mean that they can't put him back on should they advance to the NLCS.
  19. No home field if both the Braves and the Cards advance to the NLCS. However, if the Braves win the NLDS and the Reds/Pirates beat the Cardinals the Braves will have home field in that series.
  20. The good news is should both the Braves and Cards finish with identical records the Braves hold the tiebreaker.
  21. If he's anything close to what he was last season that would be huge. Almost like making a big free agent pick-up.
  22. Exactly. I hope Heyward comes around but right now he SHOULD lose his job to Schafer because Schafer has been the better player. Heyward has been absolutely terrible.
  23. Bj is the highest paid Brave ever you wait as long as you have to, Dan is another story. I think Pena can take his job. Heyward will never lose his job, just dont see it happening. Ever heard of Jeff Francoeur?
  24. To the last three posters - I don't know how you can have so much faith in BJ but lack of it in Uggla. BJ has been horrible and I don't see how anyone thinks he is "starting to come around". In his last ten games he's still been pretty pathetic including an 0-5 game last night. And BJ is not a second half guy so I don't know where that notion comes from. In the last three seasons (2010-2012) his numbers have actually dropped after the All-Star break. On the other hand Uggla's batting numbers have always gone up drastically after the break. Don't forget about his hit streak last season in the second half.
