    courtesy of my mother a 5th grade teacher: I have been teaching chemical symbols in science class. I tell the kids that Au is gold becasue Gold Medals go to the best competitor, Auburn.....Ag is silver becasue Athens, Georgia is second to Auburn! They always remember this one. Go AUBURN Beat those DAWGS!
