Only 50 are coming in the pep band to Berkeley.
-
I think the official seats from AU are in O, OO, P, and PP.

Spoiler alert: the sim has us winning the Iron Bowl 34-20. We stop Bama on 4th down and get a final TD to ice it.

And you have to assume the other 3 non-con games are wins. So the simulator has us winning a few toss-ups, losing some toss-ups, and 2 blowout losses.

Softball 2023-24 Offseason & Recruiting Thread
all4AU replied to wmsau's topic in AU Baseball and Softball Forum
Maddie, Aubrie, and Millie have posted tweets standing up for the coaching staff. The same thing happened at Alabama last year. They had a mass exodus leaving only the ones who wanted to be there behind. Players like Fouts stood up for the university and staff, and they had a much better team culture this past season. -
Softball 2023-24 Offseason & Recruiting Thread

Teams are allowed to have a 3rd paid assistant now. -
JHS was fairly dead in the 2019 UGA game, mainly because the offense stunk from the start. In 2017, JHS was truly raucous against UGA, and we know how that worked out for them.

2023 Softball Post-Season Bracket
all4AU replied to Golden Eagle's topic in AU Baseball and Softball Forum
Look closely at the link. Sporting News also misinterpreted this. It has Florida behind Loyola Marymount, which is also incorrect. Virginia Tech is the 2 in the Athens regional ahead of Boston University. All of the 2 seeds listed here are out of order. Edit: This was written by an intern and it shows. All of his "three" seeds have a higher rpi than the two's. -
Softball Regionals Selection Show
all4AU replied to EagleEye67's topic in AU Baseball and Softball Forum
I posted this in the other Selection Show thread, but AU is the 2 seed in the Clemson regional. Every regional was announced in the 1-4-3-2 format with the highest seeds on opposite ends of the regional bracket. -

@TigerTennis80 @Golden Eagle @AUBwins We are the 2 seed and will be the home team Friday against Cal State Fullerton. Each regional was announced in this order: 1-4-3-2, with the 1 and 2 seeds opposing each other. -
https://auburntigers.com/news/2023/5/11/auburn-to-host-2024-sec-softball-tournament.aspx Auburn to host 2024 SEC Softball Tournament FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Postseason play will start on the Plains next season as the Southeastern Conference announced the 2024 SEC Softball Tournament will be held at Jane B. Moore Field. The 2024 SEC Softball Tournament is slated for May 7-11. This marks the second time the Tigers have served as the host school for the event after previously hosting in 2007. Auburn began playing at its home facility, then named the Auburn Softball Complex, on April 24, 1998. The field saw its first full season of play in 1999. It was renamed Jane B. Moore Field in 2002 in honor of Dr. Jane Moore, who served more than 20 years as a member of Auburn's Committee on Intercollegiate Athletics. Jane B. Moore Field has served as the site for four NCAA Regionals and three NCAA Super Regionals. Prior to the 2021 season, Jane B. Moore Field opened the Gregg E. Heim Player Development Center. The 11,000-square-foot facility is complete with six batting tunnels, a netting system, team meeting space, LED lighting, pitching machines and a full turf infield with a clay pitching circle. Additional information on the 2024 SEC Softball Tournament, including ticket information, will be released at a late date.

2023 Softball vs South Carolina
all4AU replied to Golden Eagle's topic in AU Baseball and Softball Forum
Gobourne will pitch tomorrow. South Carolina had a good game plan to make Penta throw. It didn't help that Maddie had no wiggle room. She really had to pitch carefully to preserve the 1-run lead. I'll take it. WDE! -
What a team win by Auburn on Sunday! Maddie, Denver, Bri, and Aubrie (for her heads-up play to challenge the batter's interference) will go down in Iron Bowl lore. Murphy was correct, but it was Auburn who made legends on Sunday that will be talked about forever.

The league began the current format when A&M and Mizzou joined the league (which was spring of '13 for softball). For whatever reason, the league didn't settle on the current rotation until 2015, even though they followed the format in 2013 and 2014. So you are correct, we should've played in Tuscaloosa in 2014 according to the current rotation but instead played there in 2013. The current 3-year rotation has not changed since 2015 but I'm sure it will in 2025 when Texas and OU join the league.

I was able to go. There's nothing sweeter than winning in T-town! Atmosphere was great, but it never got to our girls, especially Maddie. Bama is known to get quiet when someone else hits them in the mouth, and this weekend was no different in the softball series.

You missed it. Last week they said about 8 more weeks. Dr. Andrews said no surgery, but he needs time to fully heal.

Much needed sweep. I’m guessing Lowe gets the ball Wednesday at Samford.

2023 Softball - Oklahoma Hall of Fame Classic
all4AU replied to Golden Eagle's topic in AU Baseball and Softball Forum
Dean has brought in 3 straight top 10 recruiting classes. I'm not saying we should be one of the final 8 in OKC, but never making it out of regionals is getting old. I don't think the start of the season is a reflection of the talent on this roster. We've definitely under performed, especially on offense. -
2023 Softball - Oklahoma Hall of Fame Classic
all4AU replied to Golden Eagle's topic in AU Baseball and Softball Forum
Yeah, clearly this is Dean's philosophy on the bases because that has been an issue with him at 3rd during his tenure, not just this year with Lenti at 3rd. The running typically doesn't work against quality teams, but it does with the cupcakes. It's almost like he still thinks he's at JMU running against CAA defenses.... -
Young team that needs experience…. Undoubtedly yes.
-
If we beat Vandy, I believe that would be enough to make the WNIT, which has 64 teams so a .500 record or better should do it.

Suni and Derrian were absolutely robbed on floor. The judges scored 4 Bama gymnasts higher? That’s a joke.
