I was just saying in general the people who tout Freeze as this amazing coach that he’s literally no better than David Cutcliffe and David did it without the cheating. But again, that doesn’t fit the narrative for their fandom of Freeze…

Well, Coach A is David Cutcliffe and did so without cheating. The other was Freeze and his last year he went 2-6 in the SEC. So, again, tell me how great Freeze is? Had a worse record than Cutcliffe yet he would bring championships to Auburn? Again, Freeze fan boys can’t use faces and logic…

Also, let’s play a fun game: Coach A: 25-23 SEC record Had 1 10 win season at ole miss in 6 years Coach B: 18-22 SEC Record Had 1 10 win season at Ole Miss in 5 years Which coach would you choose?

I said this in another thread but I’ll repeat it here: if you are going to throw morals and ethics out the window, why not go after Urban or Art Briles? At least they are wayyyy better coaches and have won way more than Freeze. Auburn fans cannot even vouch for the right guy when it comes to a scumbag who wins games, it’s hilarious and dumbfounding at the same time. Also, and no Freeze fan has been able to answer me this: do you really and honestly believe that our new AD would hire him? You guys do know that he was the AD at MSU when all of that went down and probably has wayyyy more information that the public doesn’t know. So, yea, can’t even use logic as well. In essence, it ain’t happening and have never seen such a cult following for such a mediocre coach. At least want Urban or Art Briles, at least their on the field record is substantially better than Freeze…

Here’s my take: if you want immoral and unethical slime ball at least go with someone who has won championships like Urban. Geesh, some of you Auburn fans can’t even vouch for the right guy who does these types of things and instead go for someone who’s at best an average coach. Talk about a cult….

These aren’t assumptions. There is factual evidence that Deion can recruit lights out when recruits are saying unsolicited that they would come here if Deion was the coach. He’s my first choice yes, but I would also give other candidates a chance unless it was Freeze and then I would never root for Auburn…

There are articles on Auburn 247 and On3 Auburn about recruits talking about Deion unsolicited. He’s the only coach that they bring up, no other coach gets mentioned. I really believe so many Auburn people are ignorant and naive about the impact Deion would have here. He’s not some Joe Schmoe coach from the SWAC who’s had a couple of great years. People are very closed minded on what Deion’s brand entails and what it would do for Auburn…

Well one guy lied to the NCAA about a BBQ. Another guy paid escorts for recruits and DM’d a sexual abuse victim multiple times this past summer. Yea, that’s pretty much the same…

Do you honestly believe that Grimes could out recruit Deion, Saban , Smart or Kiffin? Come on man, you have to be smarter than that. The game is all about talent and after this year, we will need a lot of it. Grimes would bring nothing to the table compared to Deion, that’s a fact. You already have recruits saying if Deion comes here then they would come. No other candidate can bring that much talent to Auburn like Deion…

College football also has never had someone of Deion’s stature become a football coach at a program like Auburn…

Can’t worry about what a coach may or may not do about other jobs. Auburn is a destination job. If Kiffin were to be successful and get us into the playoffs and possibly win championships, he’s not going anywhere. Also, no one wants to follow Saban. Imagine the first year if they don’t win 10 games. I honestly believe they will hire a coordinator of from their own staff or a position coach because the pressure would be too much to follow him. Anyways, back to Kiffin, can’t worry about what he will do if you believe he’s the guy…

Not going to respond to people personally. However, completely wrong in that I don’t want anyone but Deion. I have said that I would support the Auburn coach unless it was Freeze. I know Deion’s past transgressions and he has done a 180 since then. Freeze continues to show his true self. If Freeze had come out and apologize and atone for what he did and then showed everyone he had changed like Deion has, that would be one thing. But Freeze continues to use religion as a mask for his true self. And I’m not stupid, I know many coaches have affairs and other things. However, very few of those coaches have done what he has done and continues to do. So yea, I’m not sorry I can’t support someone that CONTINUES TO SHOW POOR JUDGMENT AND BEHAVIOR. Also, I have pointed out in the beginning that all of these candidates have flaws and I have already stated that Deion is a risk. However, IN MY OPINION, I believe Deion has the highest ceiling. I will apologize if I come across as being confrontational or attacking, I really do not mean to do that. However, with Freeze, yea, it really disappoints me that any Auburn fan would want him. And I’ll say this, even if he had no recent issues, I would still put him as number 9 or 10. He’s a direct clone of Gus. Will get you 8-9 wins a year but continuously lose games they have no business losing. I’m sorry, I’m tired of that trend. He was also 1-3 against Gus, and with his best roster ever that won 10 games, he lost to a bad Arkansas team, FREAKING MEMPHIS and got blown out by UF. I’m sorry that I’m no where near impressed with Freeze on the field as well…

I have a feeling this team is going to make a run in March. I think we’ll be having issues in the beginning but come February and March, if no injuries occur, this team could do something special in the tourney…

Fun fact for the Freeze contingent that ringers him moot for the position: Guess who the AD was at Mississippi State that was involved in uncovering the Ole Miss scandal?? I’ll give you a hint, we just hired him…

My other question is are you wanting to pay him somewhere around $10 million on top of his buyout for a guy who has never won anything in the SEC. I mean, I would get it if he had multiple championships or playoff runs, like Kelly and LSU or even Jimbo and A and M, but for a guy who doesn’t have that, are you really going to spend that much money for “possibility” and then no telling what kind of buyout we will have include in the contract and guaranteed money. I’m sorry, I just don’t see him worth that much money. Everyone knows it will take an astronomical amount of money to get him here and I just don’t know how you can say he’s worth it. Again, I like Kiffin but I don’t think he’s worth that much…

I believe Kiffin is a great OC. His coaching leaves a lot to desire and his defenses have been bad to downright atrocious every where he has been a head coach. I mean, he made Auburn look like the Chiefs offense this year and needed an onside kick to beat us. His analytics would cost Auburn 2-3 losses a year guaranteed. He can do that at Ole Miss because there really isn’t any pressure on him like it would be here. They will not fire him if he wins 8-10 games a year. That can’t be said at Auburn. Also, his lack of recruiting is really a red flag. I also wonder how much passion he has to take over a program like Auburn and realize that if he hasn’t made the playoffs in 3 years he is done. I think Kiffin is in the perfect place honestly. Yes, I would like him as a head coach, could do a lot worse, but I also feel like his record this year has been inflated by the teams they have played. Even last year, we beat them and he doesn’t do too well in big games. He beats the Arkansas’ and Miss States of the league but not much after that. Again, would he want to jump in a situation where the stakes are higher? His personality just does not seem like a good fit…

I’m well aware of Deion’s past. If you haven’t noticed, he has been a different person in the past few years. Talk with people who know him. Yes, what he has done in the past cannot be denied, however, he has done nothing in the past years to counter the person he is now. You can’t say that with Freeze. Also, in all fairness, I’m open to all candidates besides Freeze. Yes, I have criticized other candidates in comparison to Deion, but I haven’t degraded their personality, just think Auburn could do better. Also, I know what kind of risk Deion would be. I just see more potential with him than others. But, back to Freeze, that’s where I draw my fandom. It is what it is….
