  1. Is this ranked by season total quantity or per game avg? Just curious since we have played 3 power-5 teams and I'm sure many teams have only played 2 so far. Very positive stat either way.
  2. Sean threw an interception in what I think was his first trip to the red zone last year. It sure seems like Gus can't let that go. He needs to realize that Sean was a redshirt freshman and he can learn from that mistake. Coach him up and he'll learn to throw it away if it's not there. Let Sean prove that he can adjust.
  3. Free guess by Rivals [PRIOR TO OFFICIAL BEING RELEASED - OP UPDATED] Projected Depth Chart: Offense Jay G. Tate | Publisher CHANGES FROM PREVIOUS ITERATION: 1.) Promoted Ryan Davis to starter at WR over Jason Smith. 2.) Promoted Kam Pettway to starter at RB over Kerryon Johnson. 3.) Promoted Marquel Harrell to 2nd-team LG over Tyler Carr. 4.) Promoted Jeremy Johnson to 2nd-team QB.Consolidated H and TE, which moves Landon Rice on the depth chart. NOTES/THINGS TO CONSIDER: 1.) Some Bunker members can't handle having more than 11 starters named despite Auburn having more than 11 positions when you take differentiations like "small 3" vs. "big 3" into account. As such, we have to scramble the wideouts more than we'd like. We're intentionally being nebulous about which WR spot is 9, 2, 5 and instead we're focusing on who runs with 1st, 2nd, 3rd units. Slayton, for example, plays a different position than Tony Stevens yet works more with the 2nd-team offense. Eli Stove also plays ahead of Stanton Truitt outside, but Truitt plays a specialized position (small 3) and we can't list that as a true position. 2.) The RBs are interchangeable for the most part, but we think Pettway is 1 and Kerryon Johnson is 1a. 3.) Mike Horton probably is the first guy off the bench at LT, LG, RG, RT. Projected Depth Chart: Defense Jay G. Tate | Publisher CHANGES FROM PREVIOUS ITERATION: 1.) Removed DE Raashed Kennion. (quit the team) 2.) Removed CB Jamel Dean. (knee injury) 3.) Removed S Stephen Roberts. (disciplinary) 4.) Promoted Josh Holsey to starter at safety. 5.) Promoted Derrick Brown to 2nd-team defense. 6.) Promoted Marlon Davidson to 2nd-team defense. 7.) Removed (brackets) for Marshall Taylor since he's now practicing. NOTES/THINGS TO CONSIDER: 1.) We're struggling to nail down at a depth chart at SDE. All three guys will play. 2.) Bryan and I are split on Holsey starting at safety with Roberts out, but Holsey's experience is too much to ignore for a game against Clemson. 3.) Darrell Williams is playing with the first-team defense as often as T.J. Neal in practice, so both of those guys look like potential starters. We're going with Neal purely due to the experience factor. Williams will play a lot. Also look for him as a blitzer. 4.) Roberts was arrested last week for possession of an unlicensed firearm and eluding police. We anticipate some type of suspension to be handed down.
  4. Auburn released the Depth Chart released for Saturday's game against Clemson ... via @AUBlog
  5. Stephenville HS is where both Art Briles and Chad Morris have previously coached. Gotta think Baylor and Clemson have the early edge for a guy from there.
  6. Our defense has really been struggling lately. They made a big deal about how great Gonzalez is defensively but he's been a very poor fielder since we got him. Disappointing to say the least.
  7. Great play Chipper!! PLEASE GET UP!!! don't be hurt
  8. After a blown save you wanna give your closer a chance to redeem himself as soon as you can. Otherwise he may start thinking too much and doubt himself in his next appearance. It's all head games as a closer. It really couldn't have worked out better for Bobby in that regard. Plus, Timmy had thrown 112 pitches and didn't have the movement in the 8th that he did earlier in the game. Very true about Billy I forgot about that. I didn't see the last few innings so i don't know how Huddy was doing, but IMHO I think he couldve thrown the complete game. He deserved it at least in my opinion for how he performed today There's no doubt Huddy could of done it. He didn't even go ice his arm after he was relieved in the 8th inning. Weagle - I agree that you let a closer redeem himself as soon as possible but I don't worry about him doubting himself so much simply because of how long he has been doing it. Ha yea that's true. I guess a guy who's 40 years old with 400+ saves and an agent named Bean Stringfellow doesn't really have confidence issues...

  10. I wasn't aware of that. Great news for us.
  11. Yunel Escobar hit another homerun tonight for the Blue Jays. What the heck man! He's hitting .462 with 2 HRs for Toronto while for us he hit around .240 with 0 HRs. The baseball gods always keep you guessing
  12. Initially I was upset when I heard about this trade but then gave it more consideration. Gonzo's power could be a huge pickup for us. Now I was curious who won in this trade in the long-term (i.e. better prospects) and according to at least one guy, it's us. Good news guys! http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5379421 Take his opinion with a grain of salt because he was the Blue Jays GM when these players were drafted haha.
  13. I'm so pumped about how the team is playing right now. It's fun to watch (ex.-3 stolen bases today, seems like a sacrifice bunt almost every game). I want it to keep going and hope Bobby makes some tough decisions when everyone gets healthy. Blanco's speed as a pinch runner has been really valuable. I say keep Blanco up when Diaz comes back and send down Hicks. I'd like to see KK go to the minors when JJ gets back just like everyone else, but I don't think it will happen. I'm afraid KK will move to the pen and either Kimbrel, Martinez, or Chavez goes down. One of those guys will go to the minors when Saito comes back too.
  14. I wish. There is absolutely no market for a 34 yr old pitcher (turns 35 on June 22) making $7.3M that is not giving his club a chance to win but every fifth start or so. The man is sporting a record of 0-9 with an 4.78 ERA.
  15. i second that. medlen is in beast mode agreed. Hudson, Lowe, Jurrjens, Hanson, Medlen = pennant
  16. When JJ comes back I would not be surprised to see Medlen stay in the rotation and KK drop to the pin. Medlen has pitched better than KK and has a much better future. I think he gives this team a better chance of winning. Prado and Heyward have both been great so far, but my mvp is the BULLPEN. Saito, Moylan, O' Flarety, and Wagner have all been outstanding. Without their performance so far, this team would be a sub .500 team. I completely agree with you. Unfortunately, KK is the fourth highest paid player on the team (according to ESPN) and most people don't understand sunk costs. Let's hope Bobby does. I hope he'll sit McLouth in favor of Hinske too. Maybe put Melky in center. We may sacrifice some on defense but McLouth just can't get it together at the plate. Although with Chipper, Esco, and Melky starting to come around he may give McLouth some more time. Completely agree. Im so sick of him not hitting. He's got like a .20 average right now. I say put Melky at center and Hinske at left. Ive never seen either of theem make bad errors and both are on fire at the plate Ask and ye shall receive. Tonight we have Infante playing LF and Melky playing CF.

  18. GRAND SLAM BROOKS CONRAD!!! HUGE COMEBACK IN THE 9TH!! GOOOO BRAVES!!!
  19. I would've completely agreed with you before today. Hanson blew up. 55 pitches in 1.2 IP giving up 8 earned. OUCH!
  20. Agreed. Hinske's been raking this year, far outperforming Diaz and Melky.
  21. I love how he says he feels he is doing his job ... Could have fooled me unless his job is hitting into double plays and not being able to make the plays at 3rd. I have actually always liked chipper but this season is continuing to show that he is not the reliable player at 3rd base that we used to know. I am afraid he will keep Atlanta from getting an up and coming 3rd baseman in line if he stays. Just my thoughts. Wow, I wasn't aware he is tied for the league lead in walks. As long as his OBP stays at or around .402 then I'll give him a little more slack for a poor avg.
  22. It's about time for our bats to get going. I wrote it off as slow starts to the season so far but now our struggles at the plate are lingering far beyond what they should. Our outfielders besides Heyward are killing us. Diaz, McLouth, and Melky are all below the Mendoza Line while Chipper and McCann are below .250. The pitching (starters and relievers both) has been strong but cannot win without run support. It will be nice to get Escobar and Jurrjens back soon. Avg. McCann .241 Jones .226 Cabrera .192 0 HRs McLouth .176 Diaz .167 0 HRs ERA Wagner 1.64 4 saves Hudson 2.82 Hanson 2.83 O'Flaherty 1.98 Moylan 2.13 5 holds
