In the 24 class Freeze got his guy at QB, and he beat out dabo among others for him.   Juju would be on another level, but I believe CHF can do it.

DB | San Jose State corner, Jayvion Cole, had three interceptions last year and is scheduled to visit May 6th.

So, I saw an article that said CHF is planning to add 4 more players through the portal.   Any idea on targets and or visits?    It’s been really quiet since our flurry last week.

Yeah, I would like another 1 and another 4.  
Moore probably fits best at the 3,  but he could earn some minutes at the 4 depending on lineup and matchup.

True, looking ahead to 2025 is futile at this point, but still the point that it will be guys that CHF brings in remains.   With 3 years of roster building, we should be in a fairly decent spot.

7…I’m conflicted. A winning season would undoubtedly be an important step in the recovery process. So many are pointing to year 3 as the leap forward. However, we have so many seniors that I think it may be more realistic to win 8 then 7 than the other way around.

8 is a success.

2024 - we’ve addressed most of our issues.  I am now thinking 8-4 regular season is realistic.   I just hope the coaching staff doesn’t let a game or two slip up on them like last year.   We’ve got to win the ones we should definitely win!

2025 - We will be losing a lot of seniors, but we’ll have mostly guys that CHF has brought in, with a good bit of talent, and some continuity on the coaching staff.  So, I don’t necessarily see 2025 as a step back year.

I’m not complaining about a solid Edge pickup, but that is our best position on the DL.   We really need a couple of interior guys.   And because everyone else does too, that’s where our NIL $ needs to go.

Hopefully, we’ll start seeing some portal activity soon!   I expect a few guys to depart as they don’t see a path to significant playing time.   And hopefully we’ll bring in some quality players to fill needs.

 This is all NIL positioning.  We will see if CHF calls his bluff.  No way his family would want to travel to PSU for equal or close to equal NIL.
 

 This will be interesting to see how this plays out.  The kid may end up regretting his commitment to PSU if AU moves on and gets someone else to take his spot.  CHF did not sign a RB in the 2024 class for a reason.

 

 

One November or December trip to Pennsylvania may cause him to rethink that decision.  
It’s definitely all about the NIL with this kid.  
I’d prefer to move on.

Either way, you pretty much have to keep shuffling until signing day.   And then re-recruit your entire roster every year.   Being a college football coach right now seems more like a headache than actually enjoying football.  (It’s a big reason why little nicky left, so there’s a positive spin to it.)

This kid was all AU for nearly 2 years, then he was all Miami for a week, then winds up committing to PSU.  This is recruiting now.  And it’s not fun like it used to be.  🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I think they’ll look for someone younger than Pearl.  bama might need to be worried about them snatching up their coach.   nate (as much as I don’t like him) would be a terror at UK.   
 

And honestly, IF somehow the Lord sees fit to bless us with one more year of Broome and Cardwell, we will just need one or two G transfers (depending on what Tre decides), and one transfer at the 4.   If Broome, Cardwell, and Tre all leave, we will need a miraculous portal season in order to have a good team next year.

That would require Tre to remove himself from the portal, and 🧹 and Cardwell deciding to stay!   And of course the portal to gift us a couple of solid players.  Not likely all those chips fall in our favor, but it would be AUsome!!!
