  1. True, looking ahead to 2025 is futile at this point, but still the point that it will be guys that CHF brings in remains. With 3 years of roster building, we should be in a fairly decent spot.
  2. 2024 - we’ve addressed most of our issues. I am now thinking 8-4 regular season is realistic. I just hope the coaching staff doesn’t let a game or two slip up on them like last year. We’ve got to win the ones we should definitely win! 2025 - We will be losing a lot of seniors, but we’ll have mostly guys that CHF has brought in, with a good bit of talent, and some continuity on the coaching staff. So, I don’t necessarily see 2025 as a step back year.
  3. Wow! Just like that, our DL looks a lot better!!!!🙌🙌🙌
  4. I’m not complaining about a solid Edge pickup, but that is our best position on the DL. We really need a couple of interior guys. And because everyone else does too, that’s where our NIL $ needs to go.
  5. Hopefully, we’ll start seeing some portal activity soon! I expect a few guys to depart as they don’t see a path to significant playing time. And hopefully we’ll bring in some quality players to fill needs. Anyone hearing anything yet???
  6. One November or December trip to Pennsylvania may cause him to rethink that decision. It’s definitely all about the NIL with this kid. I’d prefer to move on.
  7. Either way, you pretty much have to keep shuffling until signing day. And then re-recruit your entire roster every year. Being a college football coach right now seems more like a headache than actually enjoying football. (It’s a big reason why little nicky left, so there’s a positive spin to it.)
  8. This kid was all AU for nearly 2 years, then he was all Miami for a week, then winds up committing to PSU. This is recruiting now. And it’s not fun like it used to be. 🤷‍♂️
  9. Due to the NIL era, I’m officially changing my celebration gif:
  10. Yeah, I think they’ll look for someone younger than Pearl. bama might need to be worried about them snatching up their coach. nate (as much as I don’t like him) would be a terror at UK. And honestly, IF somehow the Lord sees fit to bless us with one more year of Broome and Cardwell, we will just need one or two G transfers (depending on what Tre decides), and one transfer at the 4. If Broome, Cardwell, and Tre all leave, we will need a miraculous portal season in order to have a good team next year.
  11. PG: Tre Donaldson, JP Pegues SG: Denver Jones, Tahaad Pettiford SF: CBM, Jakhi Howard PF: Chaney Johnson, Transfer 😄Johni Broome, Dylan Cardwell If our 10 looks like this next year, I will be really happy!!!!! That would require Tre to remove himself from the portal, and 🧹 and Cardwell deciding to stay! And of course the portal to gift us a couple of solid players. Not likely all those chips fall in our favor, but it would be AUsome!!!
  12. Longstreet will commit this week. Maybe AU🤷‍♂️. We’ll see. Several others have an April(ish) time frame. We should have a few pop soon. ⏰
  13. After the surprising announcement that Calipari is leaving UK to coach Arky, are there any UK players that we can get to transfer to AU? I know the 7 footer Bradshaw has already entered the portal after a disappointing FR year. (could be a career trajectory similar to Kessler?🤷‍♂️). Any others that could be a good fit for us? What are your thoughts?
  14. Love this sweet family!!!❤️🙌
  15. I came on here and read some of the negative comments before I got to watch the game, so with that said, my take: Overall, I thought it was a pretty good day. Passing game looked a lot better. WR room is different! Cam Brown has stepped up. Several newcomers will be huge!!! Cam will leave here in 3 years as a first rounder and one of our best WR ever! I can’t wait until Perry gets out there with them! And we would be extremely pumped about Malcolm in any normal year! My Hot Take: Hunter is the 3rd best RB on the team. I’m not worried about the run game and OL concerns from A Day that others shared. The purpose of Spring was to get the passing game improved. Not many reps for run game. That will come together in time. Also, there were some blitzes called. I wasn’t expecting that at A Day. The D was flying around and making plays. Also, the interior DL may not be as bad as I originally thought. Given the issues I addressed with OL, I’m not going to get excited just yet, but they seem to be at least a little bit better than I thought at this point. We’re a long way from a championship caliber team, but things are moving in the right direction! War Eagle!!!
  16. Y’all forgive me. I’m sure this has been asked multiple times🤦‍♂️ However, does anyone have info on how we can watch the Spring game without actually attending?
  17. I do. Especially since AU was clearly better than OU! They scored more points, but our offense was more efficient. Our defense was nasty!!! Theirs sucked! Our SOS was in a different universe than theirs. There is no objective way anyone could say OU deserved that shot more than AU. The only thing they’ve got was the meaningless preseason poll. The 2004 AU team is one of the best to ever suit up. Never lost! And didn’t get to play for the championship 🤦‍♂️😰
  18. Commitments from Henderson and Longstreet should boost the confidence around here a little bit!
  19. Good stuff @Zeek!!! I do like this roster better than any we’ve had in the last few years. PT is a serviceable QB. Hank is talented and confident. I like WW a lot and he has the potential to be the QB of the future! Our RB room is loaded. Not much separating 1-3. Skill sets are just a little different. Battie can also get the job done. And Sean is a bruiser that has a role. I like WR much better. As CHF said, we’re a different team with CC! I think Perry and Malcolm will be ready to contribute by the time we host Okie. I like the additions of Lewis and SJ5. Smart players and good locker room guys! The chemistry between SJ5 and PT might be a factor. CHF was hoping it could be. TE has experience and depth. I’m looking for Fairweather to have a big year. This is the best OL we’ve had in a good while. We have skill and depth. All said, I think our offense will be anywhere from decent to surprisingly good. DL has some talented youngins. Unfortunately, DL isn’t a place you expect youngins to have a lot of success. As @Zeek stated. This is currently the biggest weakness on the roster. We need a couple of transfers post Spring to help us here. I like LB. Experienced starters and very talented young guys. I was thinking Barber was a MLB. I would love to see him and Riddick on the field together some! We’ve got a lot of talent and depth at CB. We need some young talented Safeties to step up. The potential is there. IF we get help in the IDL and/or the current guys play above projections, I think this can be a 8-9 win team regular season. That would be plenty for a proof of concept year and allow us to build for the next couple of years. We’re set up to have a good recruiting year and season in 2025 with a ? because of first year starter at QB.
