Based on what I wrote, he has had some success. I stand corrected. What I left out was winning at a high level and competing for championships, which he hasn’t in the P5 world. Up till this point, CHF is a career 8-4 coach that woefully underperformed this year (except recruiting). Could he hit his stride and take off, I sure hope so that is why they banked on him. He needs way more on the field success this year or year three will be a very hot seat.

I truly hope you are right. It would be glorious, but I don’t see it. The Force is pretty clear on this one. LOL. The body of work this year outside of recruiting (which he will have to keep delivering and developing those kids) was a massive disappointment, and he squandered almost all of the goodwill he had After the season, I went back and watched the intro presser again. He oversold himself and his abilities, severely underwhelmed from a coaching stand point, failed as a CEO, turned over his hand picked staff after 1 year, took credit for the good, and mostly pushed blame for the bad. The ultimate weasel move for me was dumping on the bowl game offensive game plan which he could have vetoed but didn’t as Head Coach. He is a career 8-4 coach, if you include his vacated wins. Again, I hope I am wrong and will gladly eat crow all day long.

Felt like this was the approach at times this year. Whether he did it on his own or was forced into it, Freeze burned his ships. I hope it gives him the fuel to flip the script. Going into year 2, there is no grace. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

A new name popped up on the DC radar. Farmer Fran is in play. Heck of a communicator.

File this away. The only bright spot this year was the recruiting class. Those guys built the relationships with … wait for it …. the coordinators and position coaches. Danny sure does need a lot to go right next year.

Actually, the future of the program relies on the recruited talent’s ability to execute and win. Good coaches win with lesser talent showing proof of concept. He didn’t. This recruiting class was fantastic, but he was to do something with them. Freeze needs to remember some grandma wisdom - when you point at others, four fingers point back at you (well three fingers and a thumb technically 🤪).
