  1. Who do you guys think we should trade for, if we trade at all? And who would you be willing to trade? Two deals I've heard tossed around are for Hunter Pence and Matt Kemp. As for who I'd trade, I say basically anyone outside of beachy, teheran, medlen, and delgado (really impressed me in his start). While a Kemp trade would basically be like the Tex trade, when your starting pitcher has to hit a home run to win his own game, our offense needs help. I'd much rather trade for Pence though. Maybe something like Minor, Ober., and another C prospect for Pence. What do you guys think?
  2. WOW Huddy. Hittin' it back like he did here in the outfield. Helluva game
  3. Yeah, but does John Rocker really count?
  4. And Braves win on a BALK!!!!! Leave it to the mets to give up a walkoff balk
  5. Opening Day Braves Roster: Brandon Beachy (DL with abdominal strain) Tommy Hanson (scratched from next start with injury) Tim Hudson (back issues) Jair Jurrjens (healthy) Craig Kimbrel (healthy) Scott Linebrink (healthy, unfortunately) Derek Lowe (had blister and ankle issues) Cristhian Martinez (healthy) Peter Moylan (back surgey, long DL stint) Eric O'Flaherty (back troubles) George Sherrill (healthy) Jonny Venters (Healthy, thank GOD!) Kris Medlen (DL with tommy john) Brian McCann (healthy) David Ross (healthy) Brooks Conrad (healthy) Freddie Freeman (healthy) Alex Gonzalez (healthy) Brandon Hicks (should be in AAA) Eric Hinske (healthy) Chipper Jones (strained abductor) Dan Uggla (healthy, but HUGE slump means might as well be hurt) Jason Heyward (just got back from dl) Nate McLouth (DL with ab strain) Martin Prado (DL with staph infection Matt Young (AAA) So 12 out of 26 (counting Medlen) are either currently on the DL or injured, and then with uggla. Could we get any more unlucky?
  6. That. Ball. Was. Crushed!!!! Freddie with the tape measure shot!
  7. So not only does JJ pitch a gem, but he also scores the winning run. Way to show up Uggles there JJ
  8. Me too. I think we should keep him there when Nate gets back if he keeps it up. There's no way Nate gets that ball for the last out on Wed. Plus I love Prado hitting 2nd. And I still have faith in Uggie coming around
  9. Here's a few things to ponder over: 1.) If we don't trade anyone, we'll have the following pitcher to fill up our rotation with: Hudson, Hanson, Lowe, JJ, Beachy, Minor, Medlen, and Teheran. Also, at some point in the year, pitchers like Hoover and Delgado should be ready and waiting for their opportunity. This is like a wet dream for Wren, and it will be interesting to see what he does with his wealth of pitching. I know everyone says you can't have too much starting pitching, but we have 8 great pitchers who deserve to be starting in the majors, and two or more that will be ready to go most likely at some point in the season. What would you do with this? 2.) At the end of the season, our payroll opens up quite a bit. If Chipper retires (which he probably will) that's 13 mil. right there. I saw somewhere that we end up with around 30 mil to work with. While we have lots of players to resign and to deal with arbitration, we've got some dough.
  10. I read this somewhere and I thought it described our rivalry with Philly pretty well "The Braves are the ideal, the all-smiling, all-winning starched-and-ironed All-American heroes, while the Phillies are a team that looked and played like it was assembled out of spare parts."
  11. Heyward is also most likely heading to the DL, and Chipper has an inflamed hamstring, but is available to play. Seems like we're falling apart
  12. Yeah I do too. All that unneeded adrenaline that comes with your first major league start will be gone, and he's playing a much easier team. Should be fun
  13. Teheran will make another start for us on Wednesday against the DBacks. I'm pumped
  14. We gotta cut Kimbrel some slack. For a guy who is in his first year in the bigs and is in a position with the most pressure. But Linrbroke has been around how long now? He's gotta be able to do better
  15. Dear Scott Linbroke, You are terrible. Please take a long walk off a short pier into shark infested water Sincerely, Braves Nation. P.S. How do you give up 4 runs to the Nats while only getting one out?
  16. Helluva game. FYI, that's the first run JV gave up since the 3rd game of the season. Unbelievable. Philly might have the big names, but I'll take our rotation anyday.
  17. Man, I'm as giddy as a schoolgirl. Sucks that Lowe couldn't get the no-hitter. Still, that was one helluva outing. He's got a blister on his right foot, and there's a chance he could miss a start, but no worries really
  18. Some more news. Instead of pitching either Huddy or Big Red on short rest, the Braves are going to pitch JULIO TEHERAN on Saturday against the Phillies!
  19. Bad news. Peter Moylan is most likely going to need surgery to fix his back, and very well could be done for the season. Also, prospect Stephan Marek will undergo Tommy John Surgery. With Moylan already down, we could've really used Marek. He was on fire in Gwinette this year. Good news on Kris Medlen's recovery though. He threw a bullpen session of only changeups yesterday. Slowly but steadily he's on his way back
  20. Yeah Minor pitched well last night. So did the starters for the other 3 minor league clubs. The pitching in the farm is just plain amazing
  21. I just from the ted. Man, I picked a great day to go watch the Braves. First Big Red gets through and the bats get going bigtime, then huddy comes in and completely shuts them down. Helluva doubleheader
  22. More bad news. Derek Lowe was arrested for DUI last night. He was racing abother driver down pechtree st. while intoxicated. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!
  23. Take one for the team, and TURN IT OFF!
