http://www.stltoday.com/sports/baseball/professional/article_7dedd9d0-4a7c-11e0-8d42-0017a4a78c22.html Atlanta's Single A manager was hit in the face by a foul liner from BMac in the first inning of today's game. He stopped breathing and was knocked unconscious, but after being airlifted to a hospital he is doing ok. Brian stepped back in, took strike 3, and left the game to go to the hospital

Good news is I've heard Mike Minor looks like a stud. I haven't seen him yet this year so it's secondhand info., but I feel VERY comfortable with him being the 5th starter
-
Yeah I saw his start against Detroit and I was not impressed. Yeah, hopefully it'll be under control come opening day
-
I won't be going to opening day since its in Washington D.C. I'm trying to land tickets for the home opening game
-
Looking good so far. Freeman is 1 for 1 with a walk. Chipper got a hit, so does Hinske. JJ went 3 and gave up 2 runs, one was a homer. Venters pitched a scoreless inning. Right now its 2-1 Tigers in the top of the 7th
-
This is a warning guys. This thread is for talk about ATLANTA BRAVES. Nothing else!!!!
-
No argument from me there. Varnadore is a complete stud! The way he works reminds me of Roy Halladay. With him and Morris we have two legit aces on this team, which is just crazy
-
Yeah, I can't wait to see him in full action. I know it's a longshot, but I would LOVE to see what Varnadore AND Morris could do against that team. I was hoping Morris would get the start tomorrow, but John Luke Jacobs is. Hopefully Morris will get in the rotation soon. I've heard some crazy good things about Morris, and I can't wait to find out if they're true. I caught his relief appearance, but he seemed distracted and didn't seem to have his control down tight then, which I attribute to him making his debut performance
-
Ah that's awesome man. Tell him he needs to be put in the starting rotation. I'm sure I'll miss some eventually. I've just missed baseball alot, so I've taken every opportunity I can get
-
Yup, exactly. Spanish Fort High School class of '09. Sounds alot like me. While I didn't play baseball in high school (tennis team man myself), it's always been my sport, and I couldn't live without it. Hadn't missed a game yet myself
-
Ha, that's the way to go. Yeah, I'm a sophomore-bout-to-turn-junior in aerospace engineering. Always nice to talk to other students here! Do you go to AU baseball games?
-
You ain't kidding my man. Especially when you have mlb.tv and watch games in physics instead of paying attention. Do you go to Auburn?
-
Yeah I think you got it. From an interview I saw of Chipper talking about him, it seems like he has had a bit of an attitude adjustment and is trying to be more aggressive at the plate. I'm hoping he has a great year, because if so, then we really won't have a big weak spot anywhere on the team
-
Yeah, that's what it looks like. Prado, McLouth, Heyward with Shafer as a fourth. Who knows, hopefully last year was just a fluke for McLouth, but those who were here during last season known my feelings toward McLousy
-
Yeah, analysis of the spring rotation points to D-Lowe, but I agree that Huddy deserves it.
-
Yeah so did I. That is such and ausome clip
-
Yeah, but only because of Rod's call . Otherwise I wouldn't have known
-
I've been hearing nothing but good things out of spring training. Mike Minor threw 2 innings of 3 up 3 down ball yesterday, Freeman has been tearing it up, hitting 5 double I think, Hinske's gone deep, and best yet, Nate McLouth is having a GREAT Spring, at least from what I've heard. Also, Chipper seems to be coming along nicely
-
First spring training game is Saturday!!!!
-
Why does this not surprise me?
-
That's just fine by me. Just kidding golf. I can't wait for baseball. Here's to a successful, injury free season, and a Braves-Yankees World Series
-
You're not kidding. Chip would make an amazing hitting coach. I really hope we keep him in the system after he retires from playing. I do think he will have a pretty good year. Not great, but good. Overall it should be a fun year. Man I can't wait. At least Auburn baseball starts in a week
