Not about us but super interesting...could this be the spark that finally brings the Corn People back to relevancy? You'd think Warren Buffett would give them a big advantage in the NIL era.

Hopefully so, the sports is better when Nebraska is good.

Just posted this in Phat’s thread, but I’ll post it here too.
Phillips looked good in the first half of their game against Andalusia last night, he made some plays that showed why we want him at Auburn.
However, he never gets to leave the field. He had to play QB the entire second half, and ran nothing but wildcat right and left because their starter got hurt at the beginning of the third qtr. He took a beating and got tired.
He showed a lot of heart and is physically gifted, he’ll look good in orange and blue next year.- 2

And that was against Auburn commit Joseph Phillips.
But to be fair, Philips never left the field the entire game. He had to run the wildcat as QB the whole second half because their starting QB got hurt at the start of the third qtr.
He did look good early in the game before getting tired

Andalusia's usually a killer vs most any opponent they face. They neutralize opponents on the regular.
Yep, they have a solid program.

It wasn't mutual. We informed him. But both because coaches are not allowed to comment on recruits before they sign their LOI and to allow the kid to "withdraw his name from consideration," he makes the announcement.
This is believable; I saw him play in person against Andalusia, and he didn’t look impressive at all. He puts up good stats in their region because the competition is weak overall, but against good teams he disappears.

This isn’t a knock on the guy, he’s a great talent and I hope we get him, but he’s playing against the weakest competition in Alabama so those stats are a little misleading

I'm certain it would've completely crashed and burned if he was given another year.
I think what happened the first half of this past season was a complete crash and burn, couldn’t imagine it getting any worse before he was asked to leave.

Not sure I’d call this breaking news

Playing the looong game baby!
This dude has already been enrolled at 4 high schools and he’s only a sophomore this year. Rumor is his dad is constantly looking for the highest bidder or the best deal.

That was a fun game to watch. Andalusia geared up to stop Cobb’s running, but he went off as a receiver.

Keith posted yesterday he's more like 6'0, 232.
He’s definitely taller than 6’0”, not that an inch or two for a running back really matters. He is a little heavy right now, but when summer workouts begin he’ll get back to the 215-220 range.
He will be behind 4 new starters on the Oline, but the backups got plenty of playing time last season and they’re talented. They won’t be as good as last season but they’ll still be good.- 1

Didn't his friend commit there?
Not sure which one you’re referring too, but there were 3 players from Andalusia that visited with him. None committed that I’m aware of.

At this point it would be a massive shock if he goes anywhere else.
Hopefully you’re right, but he spent last weekend in Tallahassee.

I'm not sure we are pushing very hard right now, TIFWIW
I’m not sure if that’s true or not, but if they’ve backed off it’s because of the injury; I do know Caddy still calls him very frequently

Running Back (2 Needed)
It all starts and ends with 4* J'Marion Burnette. Coach Caddy has repeatedly locked in on one dude and seemed to win out more often than not. It's a gamble but I think Auburn will be able to close here. If Alabama loses out on a recruit or two they could push harder for Burnette which could shift the dynamic. Auburn expects to land the 6'1" 220 lbs. back from Andalusia.
Here’s my opinion based on what I know regarding Phat; if he had to commit today, he’s coming to Auburn.
He really likes Bama, but his offer from them isn’t a commitable offer yet. I think they’re stringing him along while they look for someone else. If they get turned down by the others, then we have something to worry about.
He has a good relationship with Caddy and that’s what is really giving us the chance.- 1

Received word that he was fully cleared by the dr’s last week and he’s back lifting weights with the team.

can one of you medical people that know what you are talking about tell me how serious this is?
Knowing nothing about brain bleed, this sounds ridiculously serious to me.
Does anyone know if this is a Football related injury or something that happened off the field?
Is it likely to cause future problems, reoccur, etc?
I don’t know the seriousness of it, I’m far from being a doctor, but he still hasn’t started lifting weights with the team yet if that’s any indication.
It was a football related injury, it happened in the 3rd round of the playoffs against Anniston.

Woah if he suffered a brain bleed then that’s super serious. Even if he does commit to us, we’re probably gone want at least another RB commit in our class
Yeah, I’m sure Caddy and Freeze know all about it, so I trust them to act accordingly.

I heard from one of the locals this past weekend that the rumor on the street is that he suffered a brain bleed that sat him out the last couple of games. I heard there were even questions if he would play football again. I hope that isn’t true! Really looking forward to him committing soon.
Yeah, the brain bleed part is true, he spent two days in the hospital because of it, but he’s expected to be back.

Another tidbit of information on Phat is he and Zavier Hamilton the 4* from Navarre, Fl were teammates their Sophomore year, maybe they formed a friendship and we can get a package deal.
