  1. Yup, I’m sure ESPN is rooting hard for *less* content.
  2. Playing at Baylor in the Big 12/SEC challenge. With likely two of the top three teams in the country on the schedule, no SOS concerns this year. (And not going undefeated in the non-con again.)
  3. Tolentino has been training with Sotto, seems possible that led to the Auburn connection. https://www.spin.ph/basketball/kai-sotto-on-big-brother-relationship-with-fellow-seven-footer-sage-tolentino-a791-20201004
  4. By recruiting rankings Gonzaga has their most talented team ever, and will be ranked somewhere #1-3 coming into the season.
  5. Outside of Jabari and JD, who do we think are our top ‘21 targets right now? Curious about our other targets as these two are probably toss-ups for us to land at best. I know we are in a position to take our pick with this class, but it’d be nice to come away with at least one top HS recruit. Seems like we recruited Collins and Graham at least somewhat, but they’ve committed elsewhere. Rivals this morning has us as a favorite for Huntley-Hatfield, who could possibly reclassify back into 2021. Any others?
  6. Okoli seems like the kind of recruit that would be climbing the rankings with the normal summer recruiting circuit. Only one year of 11 man football experience, tremendous upside. This is not a 3-star level talent, imo.
  7. Seems like Cooper is more polished at the moment, but Thor has the highest ceiling. I think Cooper will be a great college point guard. I’m interested to see what he develops into as a pro prospect given his stature/athleticism. Even if he doesn’t become Chris Paul (his 247 comp), I think he could be our Jalen Brunson or similar, and that’s a fantastic outcome.
  8. It’s hard to imagine Thor will be ready to log meaningful minutes at the 5 this season. We are going to need Cardwell to play a little, even if Jaylin can slide down and play some at the 5.
  9. In addition to this - sometimes a reclass gets schools involved who have missed on priority targets at the recruit’s position that wouldn’t have necessarily offered if they stayed in their original class. (See Anselem and Kentucky.)
  10. Frankie Collins is a PG to watch for 2021. Top-100, says we are heavily involved. https://stockrisers.com/2020/05/01/top-75-junior-frankie-collins-will-remain-in-2021-breaks-down-recruitment/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
  11. While we aren’t in on Chandler, this seems significant.
  12. Saw the rivals article that said Auburn and Oregon are his most likely landing spots if he can’t enter the draft. Honestly hadn’t heard much about us with Makur - any insight into whether we have a real shot here?
  13. Agree, based on the limited video I’ve seen. I assume he means playing pro outside the US.
  14. Unfortunately he has already visited UK as well, so it’s not as if Bruce is on a total unknown here. No idea where either school stands with him - still a possibility he plays pro next year instead. Would like to have him, seems he could play the role we’d hoped Kessler would.
  15. Any insight into frontcourt targets if we miss on Moore, Williams and Brown? (I’m not writing off our chances, but Auburn is not favored for any of the three.) I haven’t seen much on us recruiting any backup plans - seems like we were confident in landing Kessler and/or Brakefield.
  16. Wouldn’t put much stock in this. Kessler and Williams are very different players - Duke sources indicate they would plan to take both.
  17. Hate to see all the Kessler to Duke speculation, though (along with the recent crystal ball picks.) Really believe he picks us or Duke, I’m skeptical he wants to play so far away from home at Michigan or Gonzaga. Wish I could go back in time to the Barbee era to tell myself we will soon be competing with Duke for five stars.
  18. Per Corey Evans, Auburn may lead for Kessler. Would still be shocked if the UGA legacy picks us, but this is grounds for optimism. https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/wednesday-s-leftovers-dishing-on-unc-kentucky-bama-more
  19. Seems like the only way a guy like Murr plays at Auburn now is if he takes a walk on offer. Would love to have him in that situation, but have to imagine he’s destined for a mid major. Auburn seems to be on several top PGs in case Cooper were to fall through. I should add, Harper was the #90 ranked HS recruit in his class, and lit up the Peach Jam before his senior season (including dropping 34 and 8 vs Jayson Tatum in the final.) He was definitely underrated, but not exactly under the radar when he was at this point in his recruiting cycle.
  20. Greg Brown (5 star F from TX) says Auburn is among the three schools recruiting him the hardest, and he plans to visit. Info here: https://247sports.com/college/north-carolina/Article/Greg-Brown-Planning-Return-Visit-to-UNC-Basketball-130956755/ This kid is scary attacking the rim.
