  1. Am I the only one not getting the joke?
  2. It's not being fired, it's not being retained. Emotions are great on Saturday at JHS but, you don't make hiring decisions based on them. It's entirely possible the new coach feels Caddy will mesh well with his staff and keep him. The opposite is also possible.
  3. You don't hire a coach and then tell him who he has to retain from the prior staff.
  4. Look, Caddy isn't going to be the permanent head coach. Enjoy the time right now but, Auburn isn't handing over the keys to a multi-million dollar organization to a guy that just got his MBA
  5. Show me where Auburn University, University of Mississippi, or any actual officials of those universities have made any announcement regarding the current rumors.
  6. You can't seriously believe that hiring a coach needed to be put on hold because Caddy is the current interim.
  7. If it is true, I think it's great timing. Caddy got a home game with an absolutely electric crowd, came away with a win, got to celebrate with his staff & team without any interference or coaching hiring rumors or headlines during his week & day. It doesn't take away from any of that, whatsoever.
  8. No worries. Apologies for the confusion. War Eagle
  9. The way your post is phrased made it read like the donor board has some sort of inside info on what 'removing the tag' means. It's simply former players advocating for the AD to make Caddy the permanent HC and remove the interim tag
  10. "removing the tag" has nothing to do with the donor boards. It's a pretty simply thing to figure out.
  11. Don't mistake gross mismanagement by the President & AD for fan influence.
  12. Fans, by our nature, are stupidly fickle. Expecting that to factor into the decision making process is about as logical as TJ Finley's mother expecting regular updates from the AD about the coaching search
  13. Not at all. I love Caddy but, stop with this nonsense. That interim tag is not going to be removed, and a coach not currently on the staff is going to be tapped as the next HFC.
  14. It's a video of Caddy offering a scholly to someone I assume is Keyone Jenkins
  15. Just because you're a great player doesn't make you a great coach. There's an element of "feel" with those guys. Having said that, I think Caddy has the potential to be a great coach...after some seasoning. There's a great deal to be said about seeing how others succeed or fail in a given role. I think Caddy still needs to experience that. He has the capacity and (from what I see) the capability to become one of those great coaches, my personal opinion is that he needs to see that from the other side of the ball. Before anyone gets in a twist, I think Caddy has the potential to be a great HC...he just needs to experience more from the sideline.
  16. Cool, so you have a "Grimes" alert. Whenever he's mentioned, you have a reaction available.
  17. Come on man, we both know that's a bad narrative. Dabo had ~15 years of coaching before being tapped as HC at Clemson.
  18. I'd be perfectly fine with Grimes. Have you actually looked into his coaching history/network and his recruiting wins? Edit: @DAGstarting to feel like you're stalking me or have some sort of "Grimes" alert. What don't you like about him beyond not being what you consider a "big name"?
  19. Tonight was an example of everything that is right with Auburn athletics. The fans/alumni show up/out, the players laid it all out, and the coaches did everything they could for the players. Absolutely a great night and I'd say the same thing if the score was reversed.
  20. The advantages of being a filthy heathen/atheist I have no such requirements on me for a Sunday.
  21. Exactly. I love me some Caddy but, this can't be an emotional decision. Is he what we needed right now? Absolutely. However, there's more to this than being an emotional lightning rod.
  22. I love Caddy. He's exactly what we needed at that perfect moment. However, he is not a HC...YET. Give him some seasoning, an expanded coaching network, and yes absolutely.
  23. At least I was able to quote the original thread title before @augolf1716fixed it
  24. 1 game, no. This is a UK trend with Stoops though. Start out on fire, everyone thinking Stoops and UK have turned a corner then completely collapse
