Does he still plan to commit before Dec 14? And I for one think Rhett could be a really good OC. Seems to recruit well and the players like him. Gus needs to get himself out of the way..

I also heard Florida ... I don't know if either have a shot really. It sounds like he wants to choose between aTm and the good guys. Hope he chooses us. Will he be in Auburn this week with his girlfriend? If so, we could be getting the visit just at the right time.. does the dead period apply to him since he is just a normal college student?

I just read his buyout is 17.1 Mil this year and drops to 7.6 Mil after next season.. I am not sure that TTU will be willing to throw that kind of money around. It would def convince Stidham's girl tho haha

The issue with going after a head coach is they want to be the head coach. Just like Muschamp, he might leave for the first opportunity. I do however, think CKK could help gus with his passing game and gus could teach CKK a power running game. IT could just be a perfect match.

Last year when Gus Waited until after the bowl game to introduce Steele... I wasn't saying he takes a long time to announce things (other than starting QBs). I was making the point that if Stidham wants to enroll in January, he will announce early to mid December most likely and since we appear to back on the way to a bowl game that will be played Dec31 or Jan1, I am just assuming we won't hear anything about an OC until then. So we will most likely miss getting the chance to woo Stidham with a new OC. That's all I was trying to say.

If Lashlee leaves, it will probably be too late for Stidham's choice. And Gus just loves to take his time waiting to hire someone that could attract recruits at the end of a season.

Either way, they were "forced" to deal with what they had. maybe they put to much into JJ being the man but who else was there to play? whether you believe he recruited or not, you cannot prove without a doubt that any of the "finished products" you are talking about would have been any better than JF3. JJ was supposed to be a finished product. Brandon HArris was supposed to be a finished product. Max Browne as well. All I am saying is recruiting is missed everywhere, not just at Auburn. The man had faith in his system and the guys he had recruited.

I think Gus was forced to put his time into JF3. Queen was still hurt, JJ has proven himself to have a mental issue.. who else is left? I don't think Gus had a choice. Jason already made the transition.. I hope that Mond realizes that Stidham leaving isn't s sure thing and opens back up if Stidham chooses aTm. I still believe that Stidham is our first option if we have the choice between Mond and him. We have Woody here, why not give him the extra year to learn, if Stidham leave, woody will still have 3 years left to play. if not, Woody has 2 years and Joey gets time to come in and learn for a year or two before being thrown into the mix

Has it be confirmed he is leaning aTm? Its just strange that he has been to Auburn practices and one weekend he goes to college station and all the sudden the sky is falling. i agree that Sumlin HAS recruited QBs in the past but what happened in 2 days that makes everyone think he is already gone?

Does Stidham plan on being on a campus in January? and what went so well for his visit to College Station? I kind of thought that this one was already done from what I have been reading on this board.

The dawgs started strong but have started to fall short when it comes to on field performance. I think CW stays with Auburn and maybe a few UGA commits follow him. The season is important and recruiting has benefited the winner of "The Oldest Rivalry in the South"
