  1. remember you can get six years because the covid year did not count.
  2. Wright has NFL ability at OT. We did not know that four kids would decide to take their extra year. We will need him desperatly in 2023. He can develop completely make sure he is totally ready physically and be in a position to start at a position of desperate need in 2023. Rather than a disservice they are giving him a chance to make it to the League.
  3. And many decisions during those games give grave doubt about his game time decisions. I could list them but i hope you all could objectively consider things like throwing on first down at the opponents 46 with only 1:46 in the game and the opponent only having 2 time outs; going for it on 4th down with your best player on the sideline and you ahead on your own end of the field with 3 minutes left in the half and throwing a low percentage deep throw with a qb that cant throw it downfield in the ocean: going for two when down 9 with 2 minutes to go in the game when every rule in the book says kick the extra point to keep it a one score game because if you dont get the 2pt conversion the game is over there are others these are just the easy ones to point out. These are coaching decisions a high school head coach should always get right, he didnt. This does not even take into account that he let his defensive coordinator rush 3 all night against PSU or stay in a clearly not working defense for over 2 quarters agaisnt MSU. ill stop for now but if the above does not give you grave concerns i dont know what will.
  4. That guy who is so bad won three texas big boy high school football championships and more games in his high school career than any other quarterback in Texas history but he is just no good and cannot function under pressure? Right! We are talking about the wrong person not functioning under pressure.
  5. i told you all back on 12/17 they were not going to play DD! i have no idea why they will not play him but it falls in line with the other coaching decisions that have been made this year.
  6. there is a strong possibility that Zierer and Coffee both return. In addition Wright is coming back to OT. That would be three seasoned OT prospects plus the young Mr. Smith that redshirted. Right now the biggest unknown is a quality SEC center. We will get a preview of what we have on the roster at that spot tomorrow. Things are never as bad as they appear or as good as they seem but the sky is not falling as some constantly want to assert.
  7. One of the many major mistakes harsin made in his first year not playing him and for sure not playing him in the iron bowl, choosing rather to go with a one legged inaccurate qb that he asked to throw on first down with only 1:46 to play and UAT only having 2 time outs. If DD had played the second half and we had run rollouts, bootlegs, power and qb draws and handoffs to tank we would have won the game. That game, especially second half, is how a coach snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. Dont get your hopes up, for whatever reason he is never going to play DD!
  8. It appears that UAT being interested in Shemar James from Faith and his dropping UF may be related to their concern about where they stand with Woodyard.
  9. looks like to me we may finish no. 19 by default if Tennessee loses another player or two. Is the current 247 composite up to date after Gooch left them?
  10. For you guys that know if this was a normal year and those three spots were filled with High School recruits, just say two more high 3* guys and one low 4* guy where would we sit in the composite if we are at no.20 now with our transfers and Chapman not counting at all in our composite score?
  11. Posters, look i can tell you coach grimes knows how to coach and the kids do like him and listen to him. I cannot tell you why last year was so bad but just like baseball you have to start with being strong up the middle and we were not. That was not totally his fault since he had not been here for two years in between. As to coaching he understands footwork and hand placement and runs an upbeat get after practice, but yet finds ways, unlike Ricky Trickett, to make learning and getting better fun and competitive for the players. He apparently needs some help recruiting and i say apparently but looks like we are providing that help. Otherwise he is a good coach and unless you have seen him run his practice and you KNOW he does not have a clue about coaching the OL i really wish you would back off. It ONLY hurts Auburn.
  12. guy moves his feet well. Would be great if he grew taller appears to be a better OT prospect than OG. Gets to next level very well but plays high and would have trouble right now getting movement on a big 2/3 technique DT.
  13. Looks like you can strike Sammons from that list. I do not see how we cannot look for a transfer who would sit and a GT next spring unless we think we can sign in the 2020 class one of those rare guys who can play OT as a true freshman. Heaven forbid anyone gets hurt.
  14. Guys, nobody thinks our OL recruiting was anything other than adequate. Please consider everything about recruiting and Auburn however when you are being so critical. As a general rule we dont get the 5 star lineman that our main rivals do. We have and always have had to outwork and out hussle and just want it more to compete. We have won in 2010 and 2013 with lots of experienced guys. That has been Auburn for 100 years. Do to the things are work against us we have to do more to get the same situation that others can get for less and we have never been able to push the legal envelope as far as others because we have our two biggest rivals on each side of us watching our every move. Just recently we have gotten almost equal ground even in the State legislature. So us as fans making a hard job even more difficult does not help. I am 100 percent with you that we failed to get a big time Left Tackle prospect. I do think just as strongly that Osborne can play right tackle, heck Oklahoma moved their 6'4" guard to tackle this year and had the most dynamic Offense college football has ever had. You do not have to be 6'5" or taller, it can be done. I guess i am saying it would help for a little less being so negative, not saying be a sunshine pumper, would help. I'll sign off yall have at it.
  15. Wouldn't know it from your post! Is there never any sunshine at all where you live?
  16. Well since year after next has everyone frothing at the mouth what will we have to work with. First a redshirt jr. in A. Troxell. He should be good for sure at Rt maybe Lt. Thats one. Second we will have redshirt Jr. Nick Brahms. He did not play well this year but started 3, i believe, games. Like Troxell he will have been in the system for a long time and will be a fully developed guy in 2020, thats two. Two other guys who have all the talent necessary to be sucessful at Og will be Tashawn Manning and Brodarius Hamm, if Hamm does not move to OT. They will be big strong Rs Jr. guys. Thats four upperclass guys who have been at Auburn 4 years. We will also have Kameron Stutts as an upperclassmen and Jalil Irvin. Irvin was pretty highly thought of coming out of high school. That will be 6 guys who will have been in the system and in the weight room for three or four years. By 2020 the three guys we just signed will sophmores or Rs Freshmen. Thats 9 and i did not count Prince Sammons because to this point we have not seen anything to give us hope other than he was a 4 star guy that played dt in high school who will be a sr if he stays and will be 6'7" and 310 or so. Thats 10 if there are no grad transfers and not counting any true freshmen. Not as good as this year with all five back but not the absolute disaster some make it out either. Before spouting off take the time to look at the roster, watch guys play late in games and watch their fundamentals and if possible talk to people who do see practice. You would be surprised how much energy JB shows and how much coaching he does, if you care.
  17. Just to point out we are not rebuilding anything in 2019 on ol or rb. All five starters on ol return plus two backups that also started during year due to injury. As to rb bookie and shivers return only lost asa due to transfer. When your going to poor mouth and put down Gus get it right it is not hard to find a correct accurate reason to do so.
  18. you miss the part about the last five years?
  19. when you are so down on a coach that winning the sec and playing for natty and playing for another sec title doesnt seem like a good season to you then you need to look in the mirror and think about what you are saying. With the schedule we have in 2019 it could very well be a long season but ridiculous comments like this reveal your true color. Get over the hate.
  20. Yeah and the class is not done yet either! Say it is three too few on February 10. It is two short at rb as well but by february it may be fine. Regardless a post back up the page talked like no one we had was worth anything and that is not fair to the kids who have committed to us and stuck with us. I suspect that by september 1, 2019 the five ol we run out will be light years better than the five we ran out this year and they will have to be. Experience is worth more than all of us here on this board can ever understand. Now lets get a big OT prospect to get ready for 2020 because right now unless the light comes on for P. Sammons we are in trouble there BIG time.
  21. There is nothing wrong with the two ol recruits we have. Reading here you’d think they were two stars. We just need two more like them. How about we say it like that.
  22. You have now placed your finger square on this teams problem, their field general leader is SAWFT! The team takes on the persona of the quarterback. There was no excuse for him to slide on that play. In my mind it was the most clear example of this teams problem was his failure to get that first down so the team could kneel and run out the clock. Heck even Sean White would have tried to get it. Cam and Nick would have ripped off ten yards or scored. Anyway, i am with you and until he shows some intestional fortitude we will keep playing like we are now.
  23. E, who other than JDean would be in a position to go pro this year from the secondary? Only other possibility is JDavis and i just dont see him being in that high of demand by the league.
  24. You are absolutely correct we will lose the four DL's that started against UW but which DB other than Dean will we lose this year? JDavis is a Jr., he is not leaving. DT is a Jr., he is not leaving. JDinson is a Jr., he is not leaving. NI is a So., he is not leaving. Smoke is a FR., he is not nor is FR., J. Sherwood leaving. JPeters and JMyers are So., they are not leaving and CTutt is a Fr., and he is not leaving. We are bringing in a redshirt So. in Handy-Holly that will have 3 to play 3 so he will be there to add depth at safety. Looks to me like the secondary is loaded and with the committs we have now they only add to that.
