Again no one disagrees with what he has done in regards to recruiting, it's the coaching that he appears to have a problem with...hopefully that will improve this year but he seems to make a lot of excuses instead of taking responsibility for his decisions. Again hoping he looks better on the coaching side of things this year...

Eh I can't speak for all fans but I think most of us have patience if we see some inkling of improvement. CHF has done an outstanding job of getting recruiting turned around but he needs to be able to show some progress on the field. Some of those games last year the coaching was abhorrent, I would use some other adjectives but will leave it at that. IMHO if he continues to display that kind of coaching, no excuses are going to matter, who wants to pay to go see that. Everybody can say just give him time but at some point he needs to put up or shut up...:)

Agree, our receivers dropped a lot of balls, I stated that earlier that maybe things may have been different if they caught some of them, maybe changed the momentum of some of the games etc...Hoping for the best.

Agree that is what I am concerned about also, sometimes I wonder is he sees it as his failure since he brought him in, like acknowledging that he was wrong. I dunno, maybe Thorne has a better year, I guess we will see.

Yeah thats what I don't get, maybe it's just me but he seems to be pretty stubborn when it comes to that kind of stuff, kind of reminds me of Gus. Maybe most of the coaches are like that I dunno but he didnt want to make a change at all...

Agree that he will get 3 years but not going to be pretty if he has a rough season, I think it will get ugly. I'm all for being patience if it looks like we are making progress and I give him props for recruiting but at some point you have to show that we are making progress on the field. I dunno thats just my take, I want to win championships but right now I would just take looking like we belong on the field and can close out some games.

I agree with what you are saying about Thorne but again CHF made the decision to stay put, at some point he has to take accountability for HIS decisions. I am hoping if we can give PT a little more time to throw AND some receivers that actually catch the ball maybe he is good enough. He looked brutal during some games but there were a LOT of drops also, if the receivers catch some of those balls maybe he settles in and looks better than he did, I can at least hope.

I think it may get pretty ugly if he has a losing season, I don't think they would let him go unless its really brutal but man I think if he is unable to show some progress then its going to get more difficult each year to say give me time. I guess he will get at least 3 years but at some point all the excuses have to stop and you have to show that you are getting better, just my opinion.

Great keep them coming...I mean lets get it documented so we can look at the end of year and see where we are. I see some are giving multiple options, its not multiple choice question just one pick that you think they will end up. Just for fun, I hope we destroy my 7-5 prediction on the plus side since it will mean we had a good year. I am hoping we do better but some of the coaching some last year play, well not sure how we are going to do this year. War Eagle!

I too was going to say 8-4 but given how we looked last year for some games, honestly I am not sure what we are going to look like this year, hoping its better than what we saw last year.

Happy for him and hope it works out but for me I would wait and see how he does in the NFL with top defenses. There are lots of QB's drafted high that have not panned out, lots. Actually I think it would have been better for him to be drafted lower where he could have worked behind someone before being thrown into the fire. I felt like that is what happen with Gus, imho he should have never started playing when he did, was not ready and needed more time to mature etc. So again pulling for him but will wait to see how it works out, being drafted high is not any indication of how things are going to turn out...

Eggggsactly...coaches have been doing this stuff for years and the players were just supposed to bend over. I know there are a lot of folks that are not happy with the portal and NIL but it's long overdue that the kids who are actually putting there bodies on the line are able to do the same things that the coaches have been doing forever.

I just read about the Chip Kelly drama, now there is a coach that you really do not want to lead your program...he is only concerned about himself. Must be nice to be filthy rich when you can walk away from at least 4m in salary... I dunno but thats pretty crazy what took place, just up and left, lol...

My guess and it's only a guess but he either still has something in work or was unable to get someone he felt was an upgrade. I was willing to give PT the benefit of the doubt but he has had plenty games where he just looks, well not good. Hard to say if we had some receivers that could catch the ball how that would have changed his confidence or the stats but not real thrilled about getting to watch him for another whole season. Seems like CHF is banking of yet again just trying to muddle through another season to set up for season three, but at least for me is next year is a dumpster fire and is no better than this year, then it's not going to be pretty. I understand that we are not there from a talent perspective but the play calling and the team being flat for certain games better not happen next year..you need to start showing some improvement and IMHO that starts next year. BTW no mention of HG is he no longer in contention or why haven't we seen his name mentioned any?

Eh, I will say we are kind of in the same place that bama was was in before Saban..they were just an average team. I think Saban's and NIL and the portal made it much harder for him to control things and it shows. While they did win this year it wasn't easy as in years past and I only see it getting tougher. So yeah I agree we are still somewhat a work in progress but at least we have a good recruiting class for a change and with Saban leaving I think that can only help. Deboer may be a good.fit and may not, I hope they return to the prior Saban era, may not happen overnight but each year I think they will keep sliding down the hill that they have been on, already happening IMHO....

Eh It think the comparison are that they are 2 northwest coaches with NO SEC experience, not strong recruiters, etc. I think Deboer may be a ok coach, but he has never had to recruit in the SEC and never agaisnt the competition like the SEC...we will see how he does, with no southern connections he has a lot of work to do...

I know everyone is goo goo over him but again, lets see what he does after Bo moves on and several years of his recruiting etc...he may be a good one, may not...

All I know is recruiting is brutal in the SEC and if you look at his recruiting classes never have been that high...I guess we will see, I am hoping to return to the pre saban days when they couldnt find a coach...:)
