I dunno has a ring to it like Harsin, no south contacts, i really do not care since no matter who it is, it's not Saban...how long will it take for him to build up recruiting etc...Bama's path is littered with coaches before saban, hoping to return to those days, lol...:)

I thought Greg Byrne said they were not going to get someone outside of the southeast. I think he is a decent coach, but he has no contacts in the south, I dunno that doesnt seem like a good fit but maybe Saban is going to continue to recruit...LMAO Edit he stated they wanted a strong recruiter...nothing about the southeast...oh well, I like the guy but not sure he is going to be a good fit there, which i'm perfectly fine with ROFL

I forgot to also state that I am glad that who you think will be hired are good recruiters, but sure do hope they can coach also...need both and having one or the other doesn't work well.

Yeah appreciate all the work you put into this. All I have to say is it sure would be nice if we could have some stability with our assistant coaching staff, I mean its one thing that they leave for greener pastures and its another thing when they are shown the door. This matters at least to me in that it shows that our CEO freeze is not able to hire competent assistants and if that is the case then that means other issues. I will give him a pass on the initial hirings since time was compressed and such but I was really hoping to have some consistency coaching wise. My other comment would be about PT, I mean Freeze said as much that he was the guy for 2024. I think most believe he is not the answer but until I hear Freeze say otherwise on MULTIPLE occasions he had already anointed him the starter for 2024..I guess we will see.

Eh I dont think it will be Kitten, he is not a recruiter and not sure if they would want to give that up. I'd be fine with Kitten since I do not think he is all that good...I mean he is like another Gus, going to win you some games but usually not the big ones. I just not sure he likes working that hard and Bama would be 24/7...guess we will see.

I'm with you, everyone is fawning over Lanning and he may be the next best thing but we will see. He really doesn't have any long term success, 2 seasons with a lot of pieces already in place, long term who knows...

IMHO I'm not sure who they get will matter, Saban was Saban and while all the names bantered around may be a good fit, history has shown us that this was a rare event that happened at Bama. Some may say well look at Bear Bryant but again, I think we can show that once in a while (usually a long while) the stars aligned and things just click. Bama is always going to be able to recruit but I just think that whoever they get it's never going to be what it was moving forward...Bama will come back to earth somewhat, it may not happen next year or the year after but it's on it's way. Recruits will look at other options now that Saban is moving on, it was always going to happen just a matter of when. I always told the one's that I knew that were Bama fans for many years, enjoy it while you can, it's not going to last forever and I think that time has come. So whoever they get, they will win some games but this run has come to an end...history is littered with once great football programs that rose and fell... BTW I really hope the information about dementia is untrue, my mom had it and its about the worse thing anyone could have to go through. Hoping that Saban and his family are healthy and well...

Yeah what I thought too, they seemed to get the calls but penix was also not making the throws and when he was the recievers were dropping them...just a bad night for the huskies.
