I too was going to say 8-4 but given how we looked last year for some games, honestly I am not sure what we are going to look like this year, hoping its better than what we saw last year.

But lets get on record what YOU think our record will be at the end of the year... My prediction will be 7-5, I am just hoping we can compete and close out some close games this year and actually look like we are making progress and that goes for the coaches also...especially for the coaching which I thought was not done well last year at all IMHO, thats just my opinion... Whats your prediction...

Happy for him and hope it works out but for me I would wait and see how he does in the NFL with top defenses. There are lots of QB's drafted high that have not panned out, lots. Actually I think it would have been better for him to be drafted lower where he could have worked behind someone before being thrown into the fire. I felt like that is what happen with Gus, imho he should have never started playing when he did, was not ready and needed more time to mature etc. So again pulling for him but will wait to see how it works out, being drafted high is not any indication of how things are going to turn out...

Eggggsactly...coaches have been doing this stuff for years and the players were just supposed to bend over. I know there are a lot of folks that are not happy with the portal and NIL but it's long overdue that the kids who are actually putting there bodies on the line are able to do the same things that the coaches have been doing forever.

I just read about the Chip Kelly drama, now there is a coach that you really do not want to lead your program...he is only concerned about himself. Must be nice to be filthy rich when you can walk away from at least 4m in salary... I dunno but thats pretty crazy what took place, just up and left, lol...

My guess and it's only a guess but he either still has something in work or was unable to get someone he felt was an upgrade. I was willing to give PT the benefit of the doubt but he has had plenty games where he just looks, well not good. Hard to say if we had some receivers that could catch the ball how that would have changed his confidence or the stats but not real thrilled about getting to watch him for another whole season. Seems like CHF is banking of yet again just trying to muddle through another season to set up for season three, but at least for me is next year is a dumpster fire and is no better than this year, then it's not going to be pretty. I understand that we are not there from a talent perspective but the play calling and the team being flat for certain games better not happen next year..you need to start showing some improvement and IMHO that starts next year. BTW no mention of HG is he no longer in contention or why haven't we seen his name mentioned any?

Eh, I will say we are kind of in the same place that bama was was in before Saban..they were just an average team. I think Saban's and NIL and the portal made it much harder for him to control things and it shows. While they did win this year it wasn't easy as in years past and I only see it getting tougher. So yeah I agree we are still somewhat a work in progress but at least we have a good recruiting class for a change and with Saban leaving I think that can only help. Deboer may be a good.fit and may not, I hope they return to the prior Saban era, may not happen overnight but each year I think they will keep sliding down the hill that they have been on, already happening IMHO....

Eh It think the comparison are that they are 2 northwest coaches with NO SEC experience, not strong recruiters, etc. I think Deboer may be a ok coach, but he has never had to recruit in the SEC and never agaisnt the competition like the SEC...we will see how he does, with no southern connections he has a lot of work to do...

I know everyone is goo goo over him but again, lets see what he does after Bo moves on and several years of his recruiting etc...he may be a good one, may not...

All I know is recruiting is brutal in the SEC and if you look at his recruiting classes never have been that high...I guess we will see, I am hoping to return to the pre saban days when they couldnt find a coach...:)

and has never been a strong recruiter AND unless I am missing something has never competed in the SEC....reminds me a lot of Harsin gang, maybe he is a better recruiter and it is Bama so you have the name but got to go through all the High School coaches etc...lot of work..

I dunno has a ring to it like Harsin, no south contacts, i really do not care since no matter who it is, it's not Saban...how long will it take for him to build up recruiting etc...Bama's path is littered with coaches before saban, hoping to return to those days, lol...:)

Peaked at tidefans forum and what I saw everyone think it's a homerun hire..LMAO...I guess we will see, he can coach but sure does remind me of harsin gang...no contacts in the south etc...high school coaches etc...should be fun to watch this melt down next year

I thought Greg Byrne said they were not going to get someone outside of the southeast. I think he is a decent coach, but he has no contacts in the south, I dunno that doesnt seem like a good fit but maybe Saban is going to continue to recruit...LMAO Edit he stated they wanted a strong recruiter...nothing about the southeast...oh well, I like the guy but not sure he is going to be a good fit there, which i'm perfectly fine with ROFL

I forgot to also state that I am glad that who you think will be hired are good recruiters, but sure do hope they can coach also...need both and having one or the other doesn't work well.

Yeah appreciate all the work you put into this. All I have to say is it sure would be nice if we could have some stability with our assistant coaching staff, I mean its one thing that they leave for greener pastures and its another thing when they are shown the door. This matters at least to me in that it shows that our CEO freeze is not able to hire competent assistants and if that is the case then that means other issues. I will give him a pass on the initial hirings since time was compressed and such but I was really hoping to have some consistency coaching wise. My other comment would be about PT, I mean Freeze said as much that he was the guy for 2024. I think most believe he is not the answer but until I hear Freeze say otherwise on MULTIPLE occasions he had already anointed him the starter for 2024..I guess we will see.

Eh I dont think it will be Kitten, he is not a recruiter and not sure if they would want to give that up. I'd be fine with Kitten since I do not think he is all that good...I mean he is like another Gus, going to win you some games but usually not the big ones. I just not sure he likes working that hard and Bama would be 24/7...guess we will see.

The bama AD talked about getting someone that has won championships, Kitten hasn't won anything...I guess we will see, I would be surprised if it's him but thats why we put the money down..oh wait thats something else
