I thought this team could be the best pre-season. I also thought Aden would be much better (that is on me). Denver is heating up at the right time. If he can be consistent down the stretch, this team has a shot with all the other pieces.

I think he is publicly going on record stating he would be interested in another job as leverage to get a Nike apparel contract. I hope he succeeds because that is the most important piece of keeping this thing going post Bruce. He won't leave Auburn to move to another Under Armor school, but I 100% believe he would leave to move to a Nike or Adidas school if we remain with Under Armor. This program has peaked with Under Armor.

Zero possibility anyway right? The SEC tourney doesn't matter. If we beat TN on a neutral floor and KY in the championship game - doesn't matter. right? or did you change your mind? I think if we lose to Arkansas/Vandy or South Carolina we may be a 5 seed. If we win our first game we may be a 4 seed. If we win 2 games in the tourney we might be a 3. If we win it, I think we nail down a 3.

No one knows what seed we are in the committee's eyes. Lunardi is not the committee. No one on this board freaking knows where we are and therefore has no idea what the impact of winning games in the SEC tournament has on our seeding. They don't know this year and they don't know from the past. They can act like they know something but they don't.

Win at home vs. top 30, neutral site vs. top 50 and road win vs. top 75 in the NET rankings not the AP poll. South Carolina is around 45 or so in the NET.

You guys are all assuming you know where we are today. You don't, I don't. Joe sure as hell doesn't. We may already be a 3 in the committee's eyes. We may be a 5 in their eyes. No way to know for sure. We have been a 6 and moved to the 5 the year we went to the final four. We do know the committee chairman in the past has said "we had to make some last minute adjustments because team X made it to the finals of the Big 10 tournament unexpectedly and that impacted their record over their last 10 games enough to move them up". You guys have heard scenarios like that right? Or do you even listen or keep up with it closely? It appears some of you don't have a clue what you are talking about. I think being number 6 or 7 in the Net rankings may have us at a 3 right now. Make it to the finals and we hold on to the 3. Go home early and drop to a 4 or possibly 5. Who knows?

If FL goes on a run in the SEC tournament and makes it to the finals or wins it, I definitely think it will impact their seeding. I think it moves us up a line if we make the finals. If we go one and done it will drop us a line. I think with us all having similar records they will pencil us in slots and move us around by how we perform in the SEC tournament. If you don't think a bama SEC tournament championship will impact their seeding then I don't know what to tell you.

Nice opinion, but I disagree. KY had no business beating us at home. We shot extremely poor that day. We were over confident and distracted. KY has lost 5 SEC games and it should have been 6 or 7. They lost 3 games in a row at home this year. It was a bad loss in my eyes and apparently others. I mean Miss St. had them beat too. In my opinion, that loss changed Joe's take on our team which was the topic of the thread.

The loss to KY is hurting us in everyone's eyes. You can't lose that game on your home court and complain. We need to revenge that loss in the SEC tournament. We need to make the finals to solidify a 4 or win it to move to a 3. Just my opinion.

Aden was driving better when he was hitting some outside shots. Now they are letting him fire away more. He can't finish at the rim though. It was obvious from his AAU film that he couldn't finish in this league without changing his shot around the goal. The underhand scoop shot won't work long-term in the SEC. Of course he will hit one every now and then but against good teams that is not working. He has a lot of strength work to do in the offseason. Donaldson was playing better and was finishing better. They said he had some nagging injury. Maybe a hamstring? He obviously isn't as explosive now as he was a few weeks ago. He has worked hard in the gym during the offseason though. Denver is just getting emergency minutes and they are hoping for something to emerge. I don't think it is going to happen. Might as well give KD a shot. He can out jump all of them.

Other than it was approved by the board of trustees and Bruce publicly said we need to figure out NIL first when questioned about the timing of the project. So the public knows financing and location have been approved by the University yet nothing has happened and Bruce appears to have delayed it based on his concerns over buying players versus luring them to campus with a brand new Basketball Only Facility. NIL took precedence over the facility is my conclusion based on public knowledge.

Maybe the money was "pledged" at the time of the board meeting and not received yet. I don't know. Maybe they asked the Neville's to hold on to it and fund OTV with the interest proceeds from the pledged amount. Or maybe the Athletic dept received the money and with inflation is holding off or trying to raise additional funds to get the design they really want instead of settling for something less post the major inflationary period. Perhaps they had money pledged in addition to the Neville donation and decided to re-route those funds for NIL.

The apparel contract will determine Auburn's future after Bruce retires. If we go with Nike or even Adidas, build the Basketball Only Facility and continue to fund NIL, Steven can win at Auburn. The games where he is responsible for the game plan have been excellent. If all those things are in place a lot of coaches can succeed. However, if we remain out of the AAU game, it will be hard for any coach to succeed at Auburn post Bruce. Bruce is a "one of a kind" find for us. I just don't see us getting another coach who is capable of overcoming the shoe contracts and our disadvantage with AAU basketball. We are extremely lucky to have Bruce and his personality. If Bruce leaves and we stick with Under Armour, we will immediately fall back to lower tier bottom 4 range in the conference.
