  1. How about explain to me again the part about Alabama somehow doing all this, ProudTIger, because to this reporter it sure seems like... A.) The Auburn powers-that-be have been meddling with coaches at AU for decades since coach Pat Dye retired. B.) They want control of the program but they're afraid to touch Bruce Pearl, for obvious reasons, because he runs a great program, has a strong personality and wouldn't put up with it. C.) Harsin comes off as a know-it-all jerk whom no one really likes but is tollerating, because so many coaches have been let go, the smart people know it will be a PR nightmare if another one is gone after a year. D.) There is a paranoia about Alabama that some of us don't get. Again, new here. And thanks to most for their kindness, AEAUgirl, Titan, and others.
  2. So you get on a message board and blast someone who's new, and asking questions. That's about right. Wow. And you wonder why you're always infighting with your own. I literally JUST SAID in this post that I'm new. So many people on this board that are triggered. And the same people are asking 'why can't we all just get along.' SMH. Picking a fight with a new poster who was just curious. Great manners here.
  3. Auburn needs their own Saban. I know, insert joke here, like "Sabans don't grow on trees." I get it. Saban had no attachment to 'Bama. I guess if Harsin gets fired this close after Malzahn, might hae a hard time getting someone of note to get the job. I thought earlier today that if Harsin got the boot, maybe Auburn would call Clay Helton and a kick-butt defensive coordinator, but I don't know... Maybe Helton would be hesitant right now. Maybe not, though.
  4. Read about that, too. I know there's "stuff" that goes on everywhere. I guess I just don't get all the in-fighting at AU. Looks like the Alabama-Georgia stuff would galvanize Auburn, not cause them to fight against their own.
  5. Not a troll, man, I just don't understand. You guys could be a power if the people in charge would get together with the athletic department instead of working against each other. With work and the right coaches, you could be there with Alabama, Georgia, and (I guess still) Clemson, instead of winning every 2-3 years.
  6. And I've read about Gene Jelks and Eric Ramsey, and a lot of that. I just can't believe some people can't see beyond the old ways and actually believe Alabama "operatives" have something to do with the center of this. If anything, it seems Alabama powers would WANT Harsin to stay. Again, an outside opinion.
  7. So you really believe Alabama is causing this? Oh my gosh... those boosters I read about here must really have hypnotic powers.
  8. No, sir, not really; I've always respected the Auburn-Alabama rivalry as the best in sports, not just in college. I live in Texas. I'm a freelance reporter. I always enjoy this site because the fans are passionate about their school. The comment about Alabama being to blame for problems just pushed me over the edge. I'm sorry, man. Just couldn't believe it, although AEAugirl pointed out a lot of Auburn folks have long blamed the REC for their problems -- I guess that stands for Red Elephant Club, if I understood right?
  9. Yes, your school has no problems. Alabama is at the root of all of it. Good Lord. Wonder why the boosters are able to run that place? The conspiracy talk is like born into you people. I don't even have a dog in the hunt. I'm in Texas. Good grief, you really believe ALABAMA is your problem here? Are there ANY mirrors on campus at Auburn?
  10. Mods, delete this post. I just posted it out of irritation. The phone drop comment irritated me. It should have irritated others.
  11. I wonder how many times fans on this site talk about Alabama, Georgia and other fans bailing on their players when they leave. That thread about negative fans? Wonder if there's any validity to that? You guys are something else. Backed this kid while he was here. He leaves because of Harsin and what he perceives is a culture differential. He was the greatest thing since sliced bread BEFORE he entered the portal. TEN SECONDS after he's gone, there's all sorts of negative comments and drop jokes. But no, AU fans aren't negative to players and former players. Flame away. Nothing but truth in my post.
  12. nurbis: This. This right here. I agree with your posts above but this one is the type I'm talking about. I'm sure the guy meant it as a joke, but a lot of people that post on here aren't joking. SURELY you read this kind of thing on this board. Need I reference the Red Elephant Club? Every time Auburn loses, it's this. Is this a joke or do you REALLY believe Nick Saban is somehow controlling SEC officiating? All officiating? There used to be a belief that the BRYANT FAMILY was pulling strings in southern college football, even after his death. It's ridiculous. Officiating is bad, but Auburn is no more or less a victim than anyone else. It just SUCKS. And I agree there should be full-time officials in college, just as you said. But the constant officiating insinuations just adds to the JABA that you guys talk about all the time on here. Saban is not worried about you. He is coaching. Just like he would be if they were in the Citrus Bowl or the Sugar Bowl, or whatever. The only time Saban is concerned about Auburn is the week you play, and when he goes against you for a top recruit.
  13. Is Auburn not better than this? You're not better than complaining about the referees after every loss? Do you watch football? Or do you only watch Auburn football? The complaining on this site -- and every fan site -- about officiating is ridiculous. Yes, most officials make bad calls, but to hear every fan base complain, their team is the only team that regularly gets bitten by officiating. It's bad across the board, is what I'm saying. Come on, man.
  14. The second targeting call on Monday was not BS. It was correct. No offense, but you should all know that Auburn should have had a loss to Georgia State. That was an officiating mistake. Every single program has gotten the benefit, and the back-end, of officiating calls. It is a problem. Auburn was on both ends today -- the Houston no-call on the intentional grounding could have and should have been called. But to say it is anti-Auburn every week is absurd. Be honest with yourselves and don't drive down that street. You're better than this.
