  1. As it stands right now, we’re a 5-7 to 7-5 team with our schedule.   If we had more OL, QB, and WR talent that range could go up.   As for the year 2 statements, that is about culture.   You can successfully implement your culture, but still be a 6-6 team if you play 6 or 7 teams better than you.  Playing @bama, @uga, TAMU, LSU, @Ole Miss, PSU, and even Arky and MSU, that may very well be the case for us.  We’ll see what happens in the portal and off-season, but right now it’s a steep uphill climb.

  2. Yeah, Wendell, Dylan, Jaylin, and Flan/Cambridge (whichever doesn’t start), all coming off the bench is ridiculous!   I agree, this team is a lot more talented and deep than that 2019 team.   That team got hot at just the right time.  I am really hoping this team continues to grow and get better and doesn’t peak too early.   If this team has a hot streak like that one did, it will take a lot more than a UVA double dribble to stop them!!!

If we can get out of our own way and on the same page, we're good.

You’re absolutely right!   This seems to be a consistent problem.  Hence, JABA becoming such a common saying.
I wish the PTB would just fork over tons of money to finance everything and let the guys who know what they’re doing do their thing.  🤣

And when we're actually good, we beat them and they don't hold us back. 2010/2013/2017 etc.  There hasn't been a year in the last decade when we were actually good that playing UGA/Bama in the regular season negated our championship aspirations.

  5. I freaking love this team!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jabari looks like he is starting to develop that confidence.   He played his best game last night.  If you would’ve told me that Kessler only played 12 minutes, I would’ve been very nervous about our chances, but Cardwell stepped up big time!   I think AU is the best team in the nation right now, and we still have plenty of room to get better!   Bruce Pearl is a magician!!!!!   I love that dude!!!  AUAD needs to do whatever it takes to keep him here forever!!!

Bunch of folks are trying to talk themselves out of CW by trying to convince themselves that it’s 2004 and USC is still good

Lincoln Riley is the biggest reason he’s going to USC.   The LA night life and California girls ($1 to Beach Boys) would be the others.   USC has been irrelevant for a good while now.

don't know the answer, but I suspect if we could upgrade with an NFL coach who fits the profile and Harsin thinks they want the challenge and will recruit, I suspect he may pull the trigger, but it will be another bump in the road....

Good point.  Several NFL OL coaches lost their jobs this week.  Maybe we find a good fit and snatch him up.  🤷‍♂️

We saw a couple of our weaknesses in this one, handling the relentless press every possession and (not just this game) careless passing.  We will get those fixed.
On to UAT.  You can bet they will be primed after that somewhat embarrassing loss to Mizzou.  We better bring our A game in all phases of the game to come out of Coleman with a W.

bama has been very inconsistent.   They have played straight up terrible D at times this year.   If they’re slack at all there, we’ll put a hurting on them.  I also think we have a significant advantage at the 4 and 5.  I expect us to put the ball in the paint a lot, and get some midrange jumpers from Jabari.
However, I am certain we will get their absolute best on Tuesday.  Let’s go!

some of the guys commenting on reddit said brooks is a done deal and he is a monster lineman. they are super pumped. i have no idea but i thought i would post for anyone interested.

I was a little nervous when I noticed his 247 portal profile had him listed as 255lbs.   On the WKU site he is listed at 305lbs, and said this about his 2020 season:

2020 (Jr.) | 12/12: With long-time starting right tackle Miles Pate wrapping up his career on The Hill, Brooks had large shoes to fill – and filled them very well. He started all 12 games and took 764 offensive snaps at the position, producing a PFF College’s Premium Stats 83.4 overall blocking rating in 2020, to rank second among Conference USA tackles behind Will Ulmer of Marshall, who had an 85.8 rating. His overall rating placed him 11th in FBS and his 77.5 pass blocking grade ranked tied for 41st in the nation. He will retain his junior year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

And he had these accolades after his 2021 season:

    2021 All-Conference USA First Team
2021 PFF College All-CUSA Third Team (Nov. 29)

So, let’s go get him!  War Eagle!
