That’s what I’m saying though. It isn’t. Kirby is still coaching. His first recruiting cycle (equivalent to Freeze’s this year) was ranked third. If that’s where they were going with the post, that’s a huge fail to not double check that before putting it out.

Oh, gotcha. It was such a convoluted title, I couldn't even figure out where it went wrong.

What bugs me is that it isn’t even accurate if Im understanding it correctly. Kirby Smart’s first class was ranked 3rd. Ryan Day’s was 5th.

It seems to indicate 'first year'. Is this CHF's first recruiting class/cycle? So, it's the best class for a first year coach in the SEC, that is currently coaching. My gosh, just typing that out was ridiculous. 🙄

As far as the Maryland situation.  Pat Dye had a kid die in 83 or 84 after a hard practice.  Not trying to excuse it but when you’re trying to push kids things can happen.  Who knows if Pat Dye’s job would have survived if he coached 30 years later.

The question for me is more about culture/player response to style. Athletes can die, usually from undetected heart issues.

I think this has been addressed several times. It seems it was more that he lost the team after the accident based on his attitude/demeanor, more than the issue itself.

And the Uni hiring Freeze with his past, but not try to work through this with Caddy and Zac (unless it's criminal or borderline criminal) feels unfortunate at best.

Past vs current is one big difference

Me actually, lol. I was very young but I remember my dad just thinking he was an absolutely phenomenal athlete. And the Wheaties box, of course.  In my mind he was just the epitome of an All American athlete.

There was another roughing the kicker but no call. When I saw it I was worried but it looked weird like our guy was blocked into the punter or knocked their guy into the punter or something like that. There was no replay on it and you could just see it in the corner of the screen for a split second. Could be the one they are complaining about.

I believe this play is probably the more likely. I missed it, but my husband said, '*$@#+ guys, you just ran into their kicker' but the game proceeded with no issue.

U know somepin we don't know on Saban?

No? Just the similarities...30 some odd seconds left and a Hail Mary pass to seal the win. I just think this will create as much lore, and I hate it.

Congratulate them on beating Auburn's least talented team in decades on a Hail Mary. Congratulate Saban on winning his final game in JHS.

Alabama now has their own Prayer at Jordan Hare. 😭

I’ve always complained about “coachspeak” but it’s so strange to hear a coach say, “I don’t know, I hope so.”

He's not a sunshine pumper, that's for sure.

It really is a little concerning though...I can't imagine the players getting pumped up with that being the Coach's demeanor.

get fired up, get off their ass and folks, if they cant respond to on the field beat down, we need to punt half of them off the team.

This is what I can't understand. I think I could have played harder than our team yesterday, just from sheer emotion and aggravation. How did they stay so unmotivated while we were being completely humiliated at home? Why wasn't our HC able to light a fire under their a$$es? Particularly after their QB body slammed Pritchett. So many questions about the demeanor of the team yesterday.

this was mostly about focus, effort, execution and discipline.  And it was a failure on those point to varying degrees from the very top to the very bottom

Agree. From our head coach down this was an epic collapse.

The whole game, there were a whole lot of missed tackles and attempted arm tackles.

This irritates the everloving $h!+ out of me. If you get your hands on him, take him down! Our tackling is atrocious.

Raise your hand if you had to remember who we were playing today and when you checked you immediately thought, "Oh nice, we're gonna be 7-4."

    [Raises hand]

I anticipated no stress whatsoever with this game. Was looking forward to a fun, easy win. I'm still shell shocked.
