Agreed, I understand if this was an NFL franchise and we needed to save money or if we were under sanctions from NCAA going the Carnell route for a few years, however Auburn is currently trying to negate the stigma of a misaligned program and from the way that the reports are currently falling with the news reports this week (all the posturing and speculation on LK) then it is appearing that we could be set up for being disappointed yet again. In my opinion if we end up with HF after it's all said and done we will have whiffed on this one as well. But I honestly don't know who would be a splash HR outside of hiring Dabo, Day, or someone like that.

I agree, if we do somehow manage to fire not 1 but 2 coaches with millions left owed only to hire (don't hate me) a former player/RB coach with 3 yrs of college level experience ONLY then we are in a bad spot and will almost certainly be down for a while... Caddy has been a great IHC but it's easy to live on emotion for a little while but you cannot maintain that permanently.

@rkristin141 If Lane did sign a contract with Auburn he can kiss his career goodbye. He had it made at Ole Miss and was doing great things there. And No I am NOT an Auburn fan or an Ole Miss Fan...Just wanted to put my two cents worth in because of Auburn's reputation of how they treated past coaches and how none have any real coaching career after they have been to Auburn. Yeah seed, I don't think that this makes your case, wasn't a bad play call, it was there but the defender made an exceptional play on it... Do I think that over the last 3 weeks he has coached differently, yes but that could be a multitude of things. If we do hire LK you will love it and you know it.
