  1. I really thought the Final Four had marked the moment that Bruce had fully implemented his system and had his players to run it. I wasnā€™t expecting national championships, but consistent sweet 16ā€™s, maybe an elite 8, and if the stars aligned another trip to the Final Four. It has been a frustrating five years since then and seeing bama making a deep run only magnifies the frustration.Ā

I'm not even talking about he's mad I started talking in this thread to try to explain to everyone how crazy it was they called that a flagrant 2. Then several people started talking culture and hurting the team and all of that. Then you quoted me asking me was I saying the fact he was thrown out didn't hurt the team and you've been going ever since.Ā

    Ā

If you feel like that's grouping then that's your opinion I guess. There's no changing the fact that if you feel like that warranted being thrown out it has to be he does something you don't like because he hasn't been going around hurting people which someone suggested and by definition it doesn't really play.Ā

I must have missed any evidence you provided

I think the huge problem is that the leap from a flagrant 1 to a flagrant 2 is so subjective and refs need some harder guidelines. The clip below was deemed a flagrant 1. If thatā€™s a flagrant 1, then CBM at worst should have been charged with a regular foul.

No the arky game everybody went crazy about is he got a tech for talking back at the arky guy. Not backing down. Showing that he's not afraid.Ā

Hooking a guys arm isn't considered dirty at all. If he had fell on top of the guy then maybe dirty. There's a difference between actually dirty ball and doing stuff to sell fouls. Which once again is my point, what has he actually done that was dirty, what has he actually instigated? The stuff he got in trouble for was retaliation. You can't be both the instigator and the retaliator.Ā

And yeah you was right eventually but in the grand scheme you was wrong waaay more than right.Ā

You are really disliking this guy because he won't turn his head and just take it.... That's crazy to me. A team needs a back bone. And you can't let a team think they have you or you will back down. That's how we lost at the end of the game. The Yale guy wasn't scared at all. He literally waved off his screens

I really enjoy your posts and your basketball insight, I have an honest question. Why is CBM getting into most of these situations and not our other players? I never see any of our other players backing down from anyone or turning their heads and taking anything, but none of the others seem to get into situations like CBM does (Broome has a few times). Cardwell is banging down low with the bigs where it gets heated and very physical and he doesnā€™t take a backseat to anyone, but I canā€™t remember him getting a technical or tied up in a situation (maybe he has and my memory is failing me). Jaylin plays harder than just about anyone and so many times imposed his will on the guy guarding him, but I donā€™t remember him being caught up in many if any situations. Is CBM more animated and it draws the eyes of the refs faster? Is it because heā€™s on the wing where itā€™s more visible? CBM will be a huge piece of this team next year and will be relied on heavily, but something is happening to put him under the microscope that hasnā€™t happened with our other players.

This. Nailed it .Either straighten up or find a 14th school . Iā€™m sick of the bull s***Ā

Yep. And I love Pearl as much as anyone, but you have got to tell your players you expect them to play to a certain standard and the expectations that come with wearing an Auburn jersey.

    2018Ā

#1 seed Virginia loses to #16 seed UMBC in the first round of the tournament. Ā

    1st half 2nd half Total
    UMBC Retrievers 21 53 74
    Virginia Cavaliers 21 33 54

    2019

Virginia wins the tournament. Ā (Horrible call saves them in the Final Four, butā€™s that not the point here.)

Auburn has the foundation to win the national championship. Ā Weā€™ll see who returns and who Auburn picks up, but there is no reason to panic. Ā
    Ā

Iā€™m bummed about yesterday like everybody else. Ā I was thinking this was a Sweet Sixteen team. Ā Didnā€™t happen. Ā But I donā€™t believe this is the ceiling. Ā Auburn is a program that has a great chance to make deep runs in the tournament. Ā
    Ā

Feel like the puzzle is missing a piece or two ā€” but very close. Ā But I hear yaā€™ll, a superstar PG wouldnā€™t hurt. Ā  šŸ˜‰

Honest question, what makes you think Auburn has the foundation to win a national championship next year?Ā Jaylin and Moore are seniors, Broome will probably go pro, more than likely we lose Cardwell and who knows what will end up happening with CBM. KD is a senior but could come back, but heā€™sā€¦.KD. Hopefully Denver and Chaney come back, but a huge chunk of our offensive and defensive production will be gone next year.
