Bruce Pearl adds another, Williams commits

New Williams has had his official visit date set up with Auburn for quite some time.

On Saturday, during the middle of the visit, Williams, a standout at Santa Monica (Calif.) High, verbally committed to Bruce Pearl and his staff at Auburn.

Earl Watson Elite coach Ryan Silver confirmed the news to Scout.com.

Williams had a wide range of college interest, primarily because he missed his entire junior season due to an ACL tear. The other schools that recruited Williams were Arizona State, UTEP, Pepperdine, UNLV, New Mexico, Tulsa and a host of others.

Prior to injuring his knee, Williams, a 6-foot-2 guard, displayed impressive speed and athleticism. A true combination guard, Williams is a lefty that can score off the dribble and is also a capable shot maker.

A 2015 recruit, Williams is regarded as a four-star prospect.

With the addition of Williams, Auburn now holds commitments from three four-star recruits in the 2015 class. Williams joins four-star players Danjel Purifoy and Horace Spencer, as well as Junior College standout T.J. Dunans.

Great news! Will you delete/merge the thread I started on Nu a few days ago?

Looks like basketball might not just be the sport to bridge the gap between football and spring football.

Hat tip to anyone who can give a pronunciation guide to this guys full given name.
