Auburn vs Georgia

Recommended Posts

Important series coming up starting tonight.

A chance to sweep a team that has underperformed...and an opportunity for AU to close in on that coveted .500 conference record.

Who starts on the mound?

Posted probable starters:

Thursday RHP Cole Lipscomb (5-1, 2.19) vs. RHP David Sosebee (2-1, 1.95)

Friday RHP Rocky McCord (3-3, 3.81) vs. RHP Sean McLaughlin (3-3, 5.06)

Saturday RHP Keegan Thompson (7-3, 3.17) vs. LHP Ryan Lawlor (4-5, 3.11)

Lawlor has been UGa's horse on the weekends. I wonder if Stricklin named his starters first and Sunny countered? Maybe just wanted to keep Thompson in the usual Saturday spot?. Maybe the opportunity to have him skip another start if we take the first two?

This should be the continuation of some good momentum.

Thanks...looks like a good plan. And, looks like we should be able to sweep this series if the pitchers have good outings....though UGa has something to say about that of course.

64, you were right on here. Good news.

While folks want to complain about Sunny getting tossed, or the return to small ball, seems there should be some kudos for Coach Holliday and the huge improvement in the pitching performance.

AU pitching got knocked around early in the season albeit against three of the top teams in the nation....with TAMU, LSU and Vandy.....plus a couple mid-week games.

But for the last month or so, the pitchers have come around and I note that in the current "hot streak", the team ERA has been just over 2.0. The UGa series improved on that.

Holliday was an excellent addition to the staff.
