TigerOne 1,148
Former UGA defensive coordinator and head football coach at Georgia Southern Erk Russell sadly passed away this morning after an auto accident. Coach Russell was the architect who built the famous "Junkyard Dawg" defense at Georgia under head coach Vince Dooley......including 1980 when UGA won the National Championship (and possessed a 43-4-1 W-L record from 1980-83). http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/myfox/pages/Ne...LogoDisplayed=

WarTim 3,456
Sad indeed. Coach Russell was one of the "old school" coaches. His teams were TOUGH. My prayers go out to the family.
