COMMENDING TOMMY WILLIAMS FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE TO AUBURN UNIVERSITY.

WHEREAS, it is with highest commendation that the Alabama Legislature recognizes Tommy Williams, who was chosen to lead the Auburn Football Team for its pregame ritual, known as the "Tiger Walk," from the athletic dormitory to the stadium, for the biggest football game of the season, the Auburn University Tigers against the University of Alabama Crimson Tide; and

WHEREAS, for this momentous occasion, Mr. Williams also was presented with a blue Auburn jersey stenciled with No. 1 on both sides, as well as his name on the back, by Mr. Paul Spina, a member of the Auburn University Board of Trustees; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Williams is the 58 year-old owner of an air conditioning company in Auburn, Alabama, and, over the years, he has displayed a tradition of impressive leadership in campus activities and, with the magnetic decals on his van to indicate his "Tiger Walk" affiliation, he is a walking billboard for Auburn University; and

WHEREAS, in their quest for this championship game, the numbers did not begin to reflect the extraordinary effort, attitude, and fighting spirit of the Auburn Tigers who, despite the record, have admirably represented the community and State of Alabama throughout the season; and

WHEREAS, indeed, Mr. Williams is a thoughtful man who serves in care and concern for the betterment of his university and the town he loves and, coupled with his dedication to Auburn University, was the most deserving person to lead the traditional "Tiger Walk"; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Auburn University, and for the positive influence he has had on the lives of countless young men and women in the State of Alabama, we hereby most highly commend Tommy Williams, for whom a copy of this resolution of sincere regard and esteem shall be provided.
