EPD Public Information Officer Mike Lolley said police officers responding to a 1:30 a.m., call regarding a shooting at the Mikey Walding Apartment complex behind College Cinema found the body of John Antron Gray, 23, of Enterprise, in the middle of the roadway leading away from the apartment complex. Officers determined that Gray had a gunshot wound to the head. "It appeared the victim received only one gunshot wound. That's all we know now, but we should know more when we get the forensic reports back tomorrow (Tuesday)," Lolley said. During the investigation, Lolley said it was learned a fight had erupted earlier outside an apartment in the complex between Gray and 23-year-old Joshua Patrick Alexander. From there, the fight progressed into the parking lot area where Gray's body was found. Lolley said the investigation also revealed that Alexander, whose address is listed as 103 Sun Street, near the scene of the incident, had been taken to a Dothan residence after the shooting. The Dothan Police Department was contacted and arrested Alexander without incident at a Dothan residence. Lolley said the early Monday incident wasn't the first time Gray and Alexander had been involved in an altercation. He said in mid-June, local authorities responded to a call involving an altercation between the two, but could not offer offer a motive in either incident. Alexander remains in the Coffee County Jail. According to arrest records at the Coffee County Jail, Gray had been arrested over the weekend on a drug charge but was released early Saturday on bond. Gray is the older brother of former EHS standout football player and Auburn signee Raven Gray.
