Any other signees we expect today?

So Commit doesn't = signed, or does it since it's a transfer?

No but I think signing day is today.

NO Signing day is tomorrow.

I bet the campus threat today was a basketball signee seeing as how today is signing day....the threat was probably going to pertain to a rampage against other bball teams with the help of BP, he just ran out of time and cut the message short...and therefore it came out all wrong :)

OR.....Harvey is pissed that AU is about to dominate in bball as well and just cant take it so he tried to mess up signing day....

sorry guys, but I don't follow Auburn basketball too closely (just the little nuggets I get from here). Given the lack of activity in signing recruits, how many players do we have that are returning next season? AND..... Do we believe that BP can make a competitive effort with the players he has adopted? Thanks in advance. WDE

There are nine that can return. IMHO they can win more games than in the past years under Barbee but they are a recruiting class or two away from getting into the top 1/4 of the SEC.

It won't take much to get to the top 1/4 of the SEC. We could do it in one year, should do it in two. I hope within a few years we can compete consistently with UF and KY.

I agree totally. We should see a better team on the floor this year, and with a solid recruiting class for next year, we will be near making noise for the NCAA Tourney the next year.

This is just a taste of the good things to come for Auburn Basketball.

So, he has not signed yet? His "commitment" doesn't fit with Webster's definition of the word.

I expect the answer is "no"...otherwise we would be reading about it in the papers.

So...since it is probable that he has not signed yet....what's the hold up?

Where are the "insiders" when we need them?

Who do we have returning for next year. Isn't one of them the big Center we signed last year that didn't qualify so didn't play? This should probably have been in the recruiting thread please feel free to move it there.

Has anyone seen anything reputable about Bowers actually signing with Auburn? All I've seen is "commit" and with the signing period now ongoing a non-signed commit is not good news.

I don't think he can sign again since signing with FSU. I think he will just enroll with us since being released from his letter of intent.

That's a new one on me, but if that's how it is, ok.

Ah, only three days late for the start of classes. Link: http://www.auburn.edu/main/auweb_calendar.html

I would have had a hard time recovering from starting three days late in a mini-semester, grade-wise. Apparently he's a much better student than I was.

Looks like he is on his way. For that matter he and Justin Thorton are arriving on the same day. So It may have more to do with the NCAA than anything else.

Mini semester..what's that? ....6 hours or something...and don't forget he will have a tutor to get him off to a good start.

Don't think it was that way back in the old days. He will probably do fine.

Also no promises that he'll actually be taking difficult classes. First mini-semester I took was just bowling and weight training to boost the ole GPA. Fun-fact: Nick Fairley was actually in my weight training class and I suspect for the same reason.
