  1. Oh man, do I know. I research the best local restaurants before the trip and leave town with huge plans. By Day 2, I'm choking down mediocre nachos and basking in the glow of 2 for 1 beer and convenience.
  2. Exactly. It’s the hardest job ever. There are no breaks and even when you are doing everything right, it can go horribly wrong. Some kids are just born differently and will do whatever they want, big or small. I see a lot of perfect parents with perfect kids on message boards, but very few in real life. Something tells me the guy on the football forum that’s still talking about his wife and kids is way ahead of most.
  3. I am aware there are many useless parents. I just don't think that equates to every time a teenager does something wrong, it's the parents' fault. I'm also aware of parents doing everything they can to help their kids with mental and addiction issues. It doesn't always work overnight.
  4. Fair points. I think we all agree there is no way this kid should have been driving after the accident. Parents should take away car and courts should take away license for an incredibly long time.
  5. It's not always the parents' fault. He clearly has mental or addiction issues or both. It would be nice if he could get treatment for that, to address the actual problem. His behavior was horrid and you would think the crash would have been a wake up call. Maybe he was spinning out of control from the guilt. Maybe he is a horrible human. Who knows.

    Notebook:

I think he's a heisman type player on the right team. I'm afraid this team won't win enough to get him into consideration.
  7. Haha, thanks man. I appreciate the way you call people out when it is warranted. You're good in my book.
  8. Long time listener, first time caller. I've followed this site and Auburn Eagle (or whatever that old forum was called that merged with this one) for most of my adult life. Finally emerged from my slumber to post here and donate much less than you deserve for the many hours of entertainment. Thank you. To prove my long period of observation AND offer unsolicited/unearned opinions, my favorite posters are @McLoofus and @cole256. I just hope Cole would be nice to me. And ya'll lay off @auburn4ever. No one likes a bully and he brings more to the board than many of you. Seriously. I'll hang up and listen.
