  1. Yeah, that is a problem we need to solve. At the same time, all of our our Quad 1 games have been on the road or at a neutral site. And they've all been single digit losses. And we're barely a third of the way through the SEC schedule. We have four more opportunities before the regular season is out to get some Quad 1 wins, and 2 of those are at Neville. I think it's way too early to be throwing in the towel on how far we'll go.
  2. I think this is a bit of deflection. I made some general remarks at our tendency as a fanbase to lurch between elation and dark depression game to game. Some of us are masters at overreaction. I didn't take a direct shot at you. You decided to get more personal. I rightly told you to back off or get some down time and I stand by it. I don't care if you disagree with me and have fun with the debate as everyone agreeing all the time is super boring. But the escalation was unnecessary.
  3. I don't bet money on sports. At least nothing beyond a friendly bet with a friend for a six pack of their favorite beer.
  4. Remember that Final Four team didn't come together until right at the end of the season. In late February, they were sitting a 7-7 in league play and had just gotten demolished 80-53 at Kentucky. But they won their last 4 regular season games, including a win over #5 Tennessee at Auburn. Then they went on a four game run in the SEC tournament to win that and we all know the run to the Final Four. But they weren't clicking headed into the latter part of that season.
  5. No. Like I said, you should learn from losses like these and work on the things that the other team did to beat you. Teams that don't do that will end up failing. I'm just not losing my mind over a couple of road losses mid season when there's a larger body of work to look at. We're 16-4, in the race for the SEC regular season title, all our losses are close and away from home and none are against bad teams. We need to make some adjustments to how MSU and Bama defended us and I think we will. If the losing streak extends or we start looking sloppy at home and such, then I'll get concerned. I think it's way too early for that right now.
  6. ok Like I said, most AU b'ball fans live on the mountaintop or the verge of jumping off a tall building. You're the latter I see.
  7. Look, we can discuss basketball like grown people or you can continue to get personal, take shots at me for no reason, and learn some lessons. I'm not making excuses, I'm just not jumping out the window over a couple of tough road games mid way through the season. There's a body of work to look at beyond these two games. I think overall we've got a good squad, but like Bruce as tried to tell us, we're not as good as maybe we think we are yet. We can be, if we learn the lessons of losses like we had this week. I imagine we'll avenge the Bama loss in a couple of weeks at Neville. Too bad we don't get another crack at MSU there.
  8. Well obviously as a player you don't want to just accept it and not learn from the losses or road struggles. But nonetheless, this is a deep league this year. We're sending 8 or 9 teams to the tournament more than likely. Some think 10 but that may be a stretch. Road wins are going to be precious commodities this year, against all but the worst teams. And the quicker fans understand this, the less medication they'll need to get through.
  9. I think you're going to find that a lot of teams in this league are going to play way better at home than on the road. It's happened a lot already. Tennessee lost by 5 to this same MSU team in Starkville then stomped Alabama by 20 in Knoxville. Kentucky stomped MSU in Lexington then got demolished by SC in Columbia. Get used to it.
  10. If you have the horses to do it. And also, works better if you're at home.
  11. Most Auburn basketball fans occupy only two spaces on the fandom spectrum: Absolute absurd confidence or on suicide watch. There is no middle ground.
  12. Knocked him to the floor and no call.
  13. Some of it is definitely bad passes on our part. But MSU also aggressively attacks passing lanes too.
  14. I haven't seen us pass this badly all year.
  15. What the hell was that throw in, JWill?
  16. It's the norm for everyone. Bama struggled with Vandy one the road and got hammered at Tennessee. Kentucky got blown out at SC. Tennessee lost at MSU. SC got blown out at Bama. We lost a tight one at Bama and are in a dogfight here.
  17. I've long said Auburnbunchanumbers is the person to listen to on all basketball matters.
  18. Any game against a halfway decent SEC team on the road this year is going to be tough. We happen to also just be playing poorly.
  19. Comfort with the school - players get a feel for a campus just like anyone else. He got to know a lot of the players, many of whom are still there. Comfort with their QB situation. Auburn wasn't even on his radar until a year ago and Freeze made it really interesting, but it was just too little too late. I'm not so much "totally dismissing" it as I'm saying there's not a damn thing to support it. Literally nothing. By all accounts his parents (both of whom are Auburn alums BTW) have let this be his decision.
  20. I think it’s a reach. The simplest answer is usually the correct one - Auburn basically ignored him because Harsin was a potato. He was heavily recruited by Alabama and went up there a lot to the point of committing. Freeze came in and did the absolute best he could to get him to reconsider and he did, especially once Saban left. But in the end, he stuck with his original pick because of comfort level. No need to float out there that his dad poisoned the well.
  21. Under normal circumstances, not getting RW and him going to Turdistan would really sting. But when you sign 4 WRs of the caliber we did, it's hard to be all that bothered by it. It's already an embarrassment of riches at that position in this signing class. My guess is, Cam Coleman is gonna be a menace, but Bryce Cain is gonna leave a vapor trail or two.
  22. I've heard nothing about Ryan Williams Sr. steering his kid away from Auburn. Almost no one Ryan Jr.'s dad would have interacted with or had any say whatsoever in how he was treated is at Auburn anymore. Not the coaching staff, not the AD, not the university president. I'm not saying it's impossible, but in all the interactions and stuff I've heard about RW's recruitment, no one has given off even a hint that Daddy was causing us problems behind the scenes. Seems like utter speculation.
