  1. Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson will make any coaches job easier. Might even make an average defensive coordinator look like genius. I am interested to see how it would make Mason look.
  2. I thought this was going to be a Bigbird thread. Figured it was going to have Mason standing near a fire or something. Interesting that someone could watch that game and feel we need to fire the d.c. and the DB’s coach. I thought everybody wearing orange deserved an A. 11 am start on road as underdogs. That was a complete game. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to say that. If I was nit-picking Two players on D Did not have their best games. Both players I am sure would be the first to admit such. So no need to call any names. I’m gonna enjoy the rest of my wonderful weekend. WAR DAMN EAGLE!!
  3. First I should have been more specific. I meant as a Def. Coach. Not the head guy. I just see him going to the Saban rehab of coaches to build that clout, or uga for same reason you mentioned.
  4. I bet LSU hires Arranda. The one we need to go after is Coach O!!! If we don’t and he still coaches. I guarantee we will be recruiting against him. Looking at his salary though. He may be ready to hang it up.
  5. What you think about those roads there in Louisiana? Lol…. Hopefully you’re in a rental.
  6. “Bynes made the final tackle in Baltimore’s 34-31 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII even though he suffered cracked vertebrae in training camp followed by his release before the 2012 season began. He ended up starting the final three regular-season contests with Baltimore star Ray Lewis sidelined by an injury.” This paragraph alone is a movie!!
  7. If memory serves correctly, Even Briles admitted as much.
  8. Can’t remember exactly who he replaced. May have been Turner Gill.
  9. The first quote that asked “if he (Harsin) had a clue about recruiting?” With the transfer portal blowing up. The real question is does anybody have a clue about recruiting anymore?
  10. 100 percent, would never say that about a kid that decided to wear O&B!!
  11. Cool back story and way off topic, but Westlake’s coach (Todd Dodge) is the former Southlake coach and father of current Southlake coach (Riley Dodge). So father vs son in state finals. Father taught son a lesson!! Neither of those school’s kids have to worry about anything. Their biggest decision each day is what they want for lunch, and I’m sure Mom brings that to them.
  12. He was pretty silent until then. Not taking anything away from the kid. Denton Ryan’s is loaded with D1/SEC talent. Hal is also his teams punter. If that tells you what kind of athlete he is!! At one point he had his punt blocked, Picked it up, and flung it 40 yards down field, off his back foot. There was a lot wrong with it, but athletically is was pretty impressive!! Anyways, his school which finished 4th place in their district. Reached the state semis, and actually gave Denton Ryan their biggest test of the season. Pretty remarkable run!!
  13. DD plays in State semis today against Austin Westlake. Should be a great game!!
  14. Just realized who this kid is. I know, I know just call me fashionable late. Lol. Anyways, watched this kid his soph and jr year in the title game. I know it’s been said here before, but it should be reiterated. WINNER!! Do yourselves a favor and watch the state championship game when he was a soph. It was one of the best football games I’ve ever watched. It’s been a while and I definitely was not watching it looking for a future Tigers. TBH, I was more keenly watching the other teams QB (who was a JR that I believe went on to sign with Texas), but he had all the tangibles you look for in a QB...back to Davis, The one thing that I do remember vividly was the fight in this kid. Height seemed to be a concern, but at the time he was only a Soph. and I figured that would change. Good arm strength for a kid of his size. Heck, I think I may go back and watch that game myself!! Regardless glad this kid is going to Auburn, and playoffs start next weekend here in Texas. So I will definitely be watching through a different lens this year, and am excited about that!!!
  15. I’m excited about this commit from my own backyard. Good job CKB and CCM!! Congrats to Hal Presley and a big War Eagle!! Great decision young man.
  16. 2 questions in Auburn vs USCe. Somebody that is tech savvy might could link the plays to that I’m talking about here Play #1. 12:15 left in the 3rd quarter—— DJ Williams run up the middle. Trucks a Gamecock. AU in semi hurry up. Ref sets the ball takes his position, Play clock is running, Bo starts his snap count for next play. Gamecock player that DJ trucked goes down. They blow the whistle and stop what would be the next play. Play clock was started and had run down to :28. My question is what is the rule on that? Seems to me that once the ball is set. It should be on to the next play. Am I wrong in thinking that. If not, Defenses could use the fake injury To stop the play if they don’t like the formation they are seeing. I mean Bo had already licked his fingers and was about to hike the ball. The refs are all in postiion and giving there signals for the play clock running down. play #2 end of game Bo takes the intentions grounding There is some confusion the refs Make an announcement that the “incomplete pass” happened at the 38 second mark. So to reset the game clock to :38 then ten second run off so set the game clock to :28 I’m sure y’all know what I’m talking about, but my question has to do with what happens next. They started the clock before we snapped it. They set the ball blew the whistle and clock started. By the time we snapped the ball their was 22 seconds left on the clock. So did they do that correct? Is an intentional grounding not considered an incomplete pass and when he made his announcement he just said it wrong by calling it an incomplete pass. Cuz if it’s an incomplete pass the clock shouldn’t have started until we snapped the ball, correct?
  17. To be fair to Duf. Those PGA guys are freaking unbelievably good, and they just keep getting younger and better!!
  18. The MAJOR problem with the offense. The O-Line plays better everything around the offense does better. Running game, QB, and time for the recievers to get open. All we have to do is look at the line olay in the bowl game!! On a side note, am I the only one that is bothered by the fact that Braden Smith is a starting tackle in the NFL? From the limited games I’ve watched of the Colts he looks to be a damn good one too. It is almost mind blowing to me that we had that kid at AU and nobody tried him at Tackle.
  19. I downloaded an AU app from cbs and wanted to get peoples opinion on it. I live and Texas, love to watch the game muted and listen to the radio broadcast from Rod and Stan. In the past I could find a station on TuneIn and listen to it, but they gotten strict on that. Now I have trouble finding a station that has the game on the air, and if I do they usually change it the next week. I was thinking about paying for the all-acces and wanted to know if anyone else had done that. Is it worth the money?
  20. Well yall did have alot of steeler fans at the Stadium.
  21. Just got done rinsing the champagne off. How's it looking?
  22. Let's go Ranger's!!! Might have to watch the game with y'all this evening. I promise I'll behave.
  23. Great stories guys. My parents met at Auburn when they were in school there mid 60's. They moved to Dallas after graduation so I am enjoying the heck out of reading this thread. I'll have to ask them about some stories. Me and my dad were on campus last summer and he was showing me around and explained the sorority girls living in dorms which was described earlier in this thread. He showed me where my mom's room was and how he would throw rocks at her window to get her to come down. I don't know if all the sorority's were like hers, but the dorm was three stories and the sorority girls occupied the second floor. The first and third were just regular dorms. Pops he also pointed out where Helen Keller hall and said what you said about the blind dates. I pretty sure it still had the same name. Anyways, I'm not trying to sabotage the thread just wanted to be a part of this masterpiece. Keep em coming guys.
