  1. Speaking in general through the past 2-3 years regarding those teams. Bama has clearly done a good job of it with sub par QBs. So has LSU IMO. Considering Brandon Harris hasn't shown much and they still won 8 games last year. Brandon improved but i still don't buy he's going to be some spectacular QB this year. UGA as well. None of those QBs were that much better than say a SW IMO but those teams still managed 8+ wins or better last year. Considering their QB circumstances i feel like they got the best out of what their QB was.
  2. Agree. Many SEC teams QB situation is shaky but i feel like they've done a better job of scheming their offense with what they do have. Vanilla seems to be a popular word and that concerns me. We're running out of time and i'm feeling like we're going to see the same offensive playcalling from last year. We need to pick a QB (don't care if we the fans don't know) and start game planning around that QB FAST. I don't see why we can't win 7-8 games at the least if design an offense that gets max performance out of the starting QB we have.
  3. Said this last week but many thought it made no sense. They need to go live every chance we get. Wished JJ got some reps to see how he would do. I know we don't want to get anyone hurt but darn all that..they've all shown that no one stands out so why not.
  4. Much like Lawson, Russell is very mature for his age. Good leader.
  5. I don't want to see any of our QBs hurt but certainly test them. I'm no coach by far but i'd love to know how others feel JJ can be better assessed if you're not going live to an extent with him. Someone can correct me if i'm wrong but i didn't hear bad reports on JJ regarding practices. He looked pretty good at A-day which i fully understand not to put a ton of value on. And you have a good point about those INTs...it wasn't any pressure on him in those situations which is concerning and goes back to me asking what are some indicators that he's actually turned it around?
  6. Yeah i don't question his mobility for the type of QB he is. I honestly hope we're not running him 8-10 times a game in the read but if we do i fully understand and agree that if SW can get 4-5 yards on those carries it'll certainly make our offense a lot better. It wouldn't have to require a homerun hitter like JF3 on the read option. Biggest thing is that it would put our percentage at getting 1st downs at a highly successful rate which helps our tempo.
  7. All in all I think SW as the starter with some JF3 mixed in situationally can give us the best results on offense.
  8. I hope SW isn't asked to run the read option much at all. Why make him into something he's not. I fully understand keeping the defense honest but if SW is our best chance to win the most games this season i would hope that our passing QB isn't going to be asked to run the ball 8-10 times a game considering he's already had issues staying healthy. I feel like if we implement a solid gameplan working to his strengths he can be effective. I'm just of the belief that i don't think his ceiling is that much more higher but I completely understand starting him. My questions regarding Sean deals more with his: Improving his game situational awareness; limiting his turnovers and being able to lead the team in key moments in the game. I'm not against SW i'm just not as sold as some others are.
  9. I'm not making it just about JF3 though. I'm referring to all of them b/c none of them..healthy or otherwise actually showed much promise. If one did we wouldn't be in the mess. I didn't see much from SW when healthy that make me says he's clearly our starter. You go live some to see if the issues they had last season have been corrected. I don't think no one is asking for a full blown go kill the QB but i want to know more about exactly how JJ and SW have improved from last season's game performances and i don't see how we don't get a better understanding of that without putting some pressure on them. Sorry if i've had enough of the wonderful drills and practices we seem to have on a weekly basis but don't have a QB that closely resembled being able to lead an offense.
  10. But with many stating White under preformed or didn't reach his full potential was due to injury and JJ performance was due to mental issues how are we supposed to know if those assumptions are correct and if they were improved upon? The games SW started were not against the best competition and i'd love to know he's going live in redzone situations considering he only had 1 TD pass. Yes that can be attributed to the WRs and playcalling but not all of it. I get the fact that if JF3 isn't improving move on but I want them all going live or might as well put JF3 in.
  11. I don't like it. I know you don't want to get guys hurt but all we heard last year about JJ was that he was great in practice. Not only him but the team in general.
  12. Very HUGE! I did a double take to make sure it was really him.
  13. I like what i'm hearing but i've liked what i've heard in the past from Gus. So, i'll believe it when i see it. Just show me!
  14. I think ours is 3 or 4. I like UT's the best.
  15. Another late big run inning. Looks like it's going to be 13 in a row. Braves might need to save some for the playoffs...Goodness! Upton brothers having another good game. A good day off and back home to face the Marlins. Chop Chop!
  16. The young guys esp. the pitchers are stepping up in a big way.
  17. I'm just hoping we don't self destruct like 2 years ago. That and the "infield fly rule" game was just horrible to watch. As long as we get some decent pitching and get some guys back healthy i hope we go for the best record in the league b/c Turner Field would be rocking throughout the playoffs!
