  1. I'm a Cam fan but JMO you can't compare them....Cam's been on a gradual slide the last few years......probably due to injuries and a bad OL....but I don't think he has earned the automatic right to get the job back if he is declared to be healthy. Comparing Cam to Brees? not a valid comparison to indicate they are equivalent at this point. .
  2. Panthers are now 4-0 since Cam played his last game.....wondering if he will see the field again this season? I'm thinking probably not unless Allen is hurt.
  3. What the heck.....missed the top of the first and came in to find Brave trailing 10-0.....how in the world can something like that happen in a championship series?
  4. Mostly Cam's persona has outshined his performances over the years. Great individual games and plays that made him worth the price of a ticket.....but usually not surrounded by a good team...….still, I think he's done as a premier member of the QB club.
  5. Likely something like that but nobody was affected as much.....might have been anticipating the count or falling for the "hard count" cadence. need more discipline in the future.
  6. just my opinion but you do what you have to do to win a game and you don't show everything from the start of the season. I doubt we have seen the full offense yet. Someone commented on big Kat and I wonder what was going on that caused all of the offsides. Those penalties kept some drives alive and made for some short first down opportunities for the Aggies. That stuff has to stop.
  7. JS had a rough intro to the game.....and shows why coaches are sometime reluctant to send in a sub QB ...even when a game looks like it is under control. A completion, a sack and a pick 6 and his day was done. Too bad 'cause the #2 QB does not get many chances in the NFL.
  8. Found this among some old college items...from 1959 or 60. Looks pretty fierce. Hope this is the guy who shows up Saturday.
  9. Last week the commentary was toxic almost from the first play....so guess some game day posters enter the forum in a bad mood. Took some really nice runs up the middle and a blow out second half to calm many of them down. BUT....I do expect to see them here again on Saturday.....revved up and angry and likely nothing short of a 4 TD victory will be sufficient. My view....." just win baby".
  10. Yep...been missing that for several years IMO...or at least missing a WR who can do some serious blocking without getting a holding penalty much of the time. A good selfless blocking WR could do wonders for the running game and tunnel screens. I realize nobody seems to like screens but if they did not work, coaches everywhere would not be calling them so often.
  11. . Surprised that bird did not take a nip of the ear lobe. We had parakeets many years ago...and they would nip you if you weren't careful
  12. That and he just needed more playing time at the SEC level. I know he gets good coaching in the NFL but those coaches are not oriented to teaching....expect their players to mostly be "game ready".....and he just needed more development and experience. Still...as you say, he might eventually find a place where he fits the style of play.
  13. Wish Holland had spent another year at AU
  14. listed at 230 pounds …and the guy has some wheels.....nice clips....thanks guys...
  15. Hope we can hold this guy....he's getting a lot of ink /time in NC media, especially Charlotte......the real deal.
  16. JS has a good quick release but can't call plays that take time to develop. Will be interesting to see if Pats can get him past those tendencies
  17. Notice tonight that JS is still quick to duck his head as soon as he sees a defensive player resulting in sacks inside the red zone. . Meanwhile Cam with a foot injury...boy if it's serious the Panther's season is over before it begins...
  18. Interesting....I was not a teen but started the same way....a 5 and 7 iron and hit them at the old ROTC drill field at AU several afternoons a week for a month or more and then a friend (college golfer) took me to the old Saugahatchee and did about the same for a number of rounds. Did not have a full set of clubs for several months after I started "playing". Hope the kid does not get discouraged.....and some success will help him.
  19. 😁 both...or either.....however you read it....
  20. Hope that works out.....he can practice the basics and not be worried about trying to hit the ball further than you did. ….and one other piece of unasked for advice....don't try to teach your kid to drive. just too much pressure on the both of you....
  21. JMO but a kid playing with a parent is really tough....on the kid. They want so badly to beat dad and pressure can get to them. My son was a better golfer than me for a couple years when he was in Jr High ….but could not beat me head to head. I remember playing him when he was about 14 and we hit our drives about the same distance....I was getting ready to hit something like a 7 iron for the next shot and asked what he was hitting...it was has 9....from that day forward I knew my days were numbered...I shot a 75 against him and a couple of his college buddies to beat him by one stroke....just fried him. Moral of the story....get the pro to help teach and then try to downplay the competitiveness when playing with him....but that's not easy. And takes awhile sometimes to get used to a new club....seems they start off hot...and for some reason there is a back sliding effect until you get more experience.with it. I always say that you never hit a club as well after you buy it as you did when trying it out. .
  22. Yep...viable to the end...that's the goal. I play golf with nearly a dozen guys ranging from 75-90....well only one of them is 90 but several are in their early to mid 80s...and we play 3 times a week.....sometimes 9 holes and sometimes 18 but all have respectable games. It's beneficial to be in a community like ours where 70 or more is not considered old...or unusual...and thus there are plenty of guy (and women) like your Mr. Eddie to provide inspiration ….to live life to the limits of your ability. I'd be happy to do it like Mr. Eddie....when the time comes....not in a hurry though... Meanwhile bought a brand new Taylor Made M4 driver yesterday and hoping to give it a workout this week. PS...most of those old guys can putt lights out...and have a good short game....up and down in two is pretty routine inside 20 yards or so. .
  23. Gotta admit...I'm a bit surprised some mornings when I wake up.....beating the odds for most of my family...so I try to make the most of each day.
  24. Thanks for the link....might want to send those to Charles Barkely too. I thought that was gonna be one of those joke videos where the guy ties himself in knots... Those were good lessons for a young golfer and before 2 hip replacements and one knee scope I could make those turns....but not now...and especially not with the numb foot pads. I've done some internet searches without success and I guess nobody figures that a 75+ year old golfer needs to re-learn how to hit a golf ball. I've been playing for well more than 50 years and still had a 8 index when I was 70. But in the past ten years or so my joints and the rest of me does not perform like it used to. In the past five years or so I have lost 20% off my distance and have to re-learn my own golf course as to what clubs to hit and my index is up to 14.. I still want to play the game...and will keep on as long as I can but was hoping there were some thoughts on shortening the swing or changing the stance that might help older golfers hit quality shots (even at reduced distances) when the flexibility and feel are much reduced. I've resorted to getting a new higher loft driver with a senior shaft...hoping that might be helpful. ….but making good contact on the fairways is still an issue. But how many competitive sports can a person play at age 78 and be competitive with many guys 30 or 40 years younger ? ..a great game...
  25. I understand you do some instruction....do you run into balance issue with older golfers? and if so, what do you recommend. I'm thinking of spreading my stance a bit and just forgetting the attempt to move into the ball? Any video or other ideas you could suggest?
